Father Ray Leonard, a Catholic priest who serves a Georgia military base, was not allowed to celebrate mass at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay this weekend. Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice, a sign posted on the chapel said. Leonard who is contracted with the Department of Defense to minister the military on the base is not allowed to work on the base during the federal government shutdown. In fact, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA has warned that under current law some military priests under contract could even

Imagine there's no Christians,
it's easy if you try...
We shut down all their churches,
too bad ... let them cry...
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Still no media word on whether mooselimbs can still do Friday prayer calls and services on military bases.....
Great question for our Congresscritters to find out the answer to.
.. a paid worker and now there is no pay ?
.. a guest ?
.. a civilian ?
What does ANYthing have to do with a priest?
Is a military chapel a "non essential entity" or something ?
What the hell is going on here ?
Keith Ellison will tell you as soon as he gets out of jail.

ALLAH FUBAR
Why can’t the priest say Mass outside?
A priest is by nature to say the Mass and minister. He does not do it for pay but from his nature. The pay is only so that he can eat, as we all have to do. They cannot prevent a Priest saying Mass, so just go, say Mass and etc, and let the chips fall — and sue for violation of numerous amendmendments to the Constitution. FEAR NOT as JP II said. Just say the Mass wherever and whenever and these tyannts cannot prevail over the holy power of the eucharist itself.
Do they even care when they’re not affected by it?
But muzzies can have their services, er, recruitment sessions, right?
Yes outside, inside, he can say the Mass anywhere. He can say the Mass outside the gates of any base, and the faithful can hear Mass from the otherside as thought they were in a Gulag and take the Eucharist from between the wires if need be, so JUST DO IT! Just say the holy Mass, just attend and hear the Holy Mass; Obama cannot stop you, only fear can, and JP II said Fear Not! So we won’t.
Hmmmm. Article doesn’t say if all of these *arrested* Dims were kneeling on their collective prayer rugs, at the time of their *arrest*.
I went to a beach side Catholic mass in Waikiki once. One of the most beautiful masses I’ve ever attended. And I’ve been to many.
Are muslims exempt from Obamacare?
EVERYthing about this "shutdown" is BoGatz !
No ranger has the right nor power to keep people out of a park ... especially one that never had a ranger before.
And a priest SHOULD just go in and say mass.
I'm not Catholic, but if my pastor was told he couldn't preach ... you don't know NUTHIN' 'bout independent, fundamental Baptist preachers .... you want WW3 ?
They hate religion because they know that what Robert Nisbet said is true: ‘God is a conservative.’
Congress should investigate; and the officers who obeyed these illegal and unconstitutional orders (”good Germans”) should be rifted from the service.
We’ve got plenty of other good men to fill their places.
Yes just a bit of courage. At this point, just a tiny bit of courage and commitment is all it takes, and those who do not have that much are not worthy of officer’s rank. Later, if it were come to that — and there is no reason that it should — it would take real sacrificial courage to resist. Not now. Now it is just a cake walk and those who cannot walk a cake walk . . . what else can one say??
Mass can be held anywhere. I attended mass at a tree trunk in Vietnam. The priest should have moved the congregation to the parking lot and held mass off an SUV tailgate.
Ray Leonard...Who do you serve?
