My late father’s brown leather belt across the back of the legs and on the buttocks 8-10 times would be helpful. And if there is sassing back, my late mother from the front washing out the mouth with soap is a good remedy.

It all works wonders for bad behavior.

Sounds like a kid from down the street back in my old neighborhood.

At age 8 he stole a car and got into a high-speed chase with the cops. They were chasing him up a hill that dead-ended. He decided to do what he had seen done in every such instance on TV...threw the car in reverse and hopped out. It rolled down the hill and smashed-up 3 police cruisers.

Last I heard he was doing time for armed robbery in Texas.

If you could harness that drive and direct it to positive outcomes...

Exactly what I was thinking.

Just such drive in a 9 year old is amazing to contemplate.

Here in Pennsylvania we had an 11 year old who shot and killed his father’s pregnant girlfriend (20 gauge to the back of the head). He was tried via the Juvenile system (partly because of UN pressure about trying an 11 year old as an adult) and was found “delinquent” in a closed-door hearing with no jury and no press. His status will be reviewed every six months. So he could be out in six months, or twelve, or twenty-four. In any case they can’t hold him past his 21st birthday.
