"I don't follow it closely, but where is the best place to find factual reports on the progress of LENR research?"

Jed Rothwell's LENR-CARN.org website. If it has been published, and copyright allows it, it will be there, either in abstract or full paper.

He also reports "major news". Best unfiltered source is the vortex-l mail site.

"On another subject, what is the current news status of Rossi's antics?"

Not much on the science side. Latest is that he was visiting Sweden where one of his devices is either under test or about to begin a test.

Um... "LENR-CANR"...

I have dyslexia, too... '-)

BTW, Thanks for the great reference sources!

Looks like some serious experimentation and data-gathering is going on...

There is one significant threshold that Ross claimed recently. But I haven’t posted a “Rossi says” thread in over 2 years.

So, with that in mind, Rossi claimed multiple times recently that he’s no longer involved on the business end, that he’s transferred that responsibility and he’s the CTO of the company, not the CFO. And that as part of this transfer, the group has generated LENR devices that exhibit excess heat based ONLY upon his instructions on how to build the devices.

That’s significant in LENR, if you are aware of the history of such things as the Patterson device. He had a working LENR device and was building up towards production but he was the only person on the planet who could build them. Then he died. His secret died with him. Now at least, if Rossi kicks the bucket, his secret lives on.

A different twist on “science progressing one funeral at a time”.
