Take a look at these third grade Common Core worksheets [Correction: Common Core-aligned worksheets].*
The first story for third graders takes a twisted social work approach to learning. The next story is about a cheating husband and father, and, again, its for third grade.
Could we forego the nonsensical touchy-feely stuff and go back to actually teaching the children how to read literature and do math?
The first worksheet is the tale of Peter and Patty. Its a terrible piece of literature (Im using the word literature very loosely). Its about a father who abandons his children in the woods but wishes them well; some woman in the woods takes them in, feeds them fruits and vegetables (she must have been listening to Michelle Obama); and they all live happily ever after. Seriously??? I dont think Im overstating it when I say its bizarre! Whoever made this up is not right in the head.

They have to hate on fathers.
That’s nothing. I was reading earlier about a common core project asking 6th graders what rights they would like removed from the constitution.

screen capture please! I cannot fwd fr to my friends!
The ‘mother’, wouldn’t be Hillary Clinton, would it?
That’s really awful.
Back when I was a tot, we only had to read stories about canabalist witches.
Peter and Patty is a “PC” rewrite of the old Hansel and Gretle.
It’s interesting that, at a time when so much attention is being focused on the poor caliber of education our kids receive at public indoctrination centers, the NEA decides to double down on “teaching” absolutely useless crap.
And, let’s not mince words, the crap they are “teaching” is derived specifically from liberal political theory.
If you don’t protect your kids from this garbage, who do you think is going to - the government!??
thank for sharing the Costello sketch. I had not seen that. Incredibly funny.
Yeah, Hansel and Gretel. Didn't the PC police ban those old fairy tales? I guess they had to rewrite them so as to make the bad guys resemble conservatives and white males, huh? That makes it OK now.
Uhh, no!
You want that, take your kids out of public school, then there is a chance but no assurance that that would happen. We as a society have given the indoctrination of our children over to the Federal Government, what did we expect?
sounds like a take off on Hansel and Gretel but the witch is good.
“Could we forego the nonsensical touchy-feely stuff and go back to actually teaching the children how to read literature and do math?”
Yes, It’s called homeschool.
Why do I have no audio on Youtube, all of a sudden? Started yesterday.
Most of the old fairy tales were rewritten to have more of a communistic slant to them I believe.
Everyone works together for the common good.
Everyone is equal.
Nobody wins and nobody looses.
An animal that would normally kill other animals works with the other animals for the common good.
All the animals work together to raise the wheat and make the bread and each gets an equal share.
