(CNN) -- U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six pulled out during a raid to capture suspected Al-Shabaab leader Ikrima when it became clear that he couldn't be taken alive, a senior U.S. official told CNN.
"Their mission was to capture him. Once it became clear we were not going to able to take him, the Navy commander made the decision to withdraw," said the official, who has direct knowledge of the entire Somalia operation but declined to be identified publicly.

Why is “capture” preferable to “kill”? Because these turds will go to any length, including putting our troops in unnecessary danger, to get terrorists into the criminal justice system.

Since when do we report our ‘failures’ (I blame ROE for this incident ... and so many others) immediately to the press???

When a raid is conducted into a coastal city and the battle rages and attack helicopters involved, how do you force the world’s media to not report that news AFTER it happens?
Once again, I fully expect the media to report whatever they feel like. However details like who the SEALs were after, what units were involved, and why they left are pieces of information that come from the traitor ranks within our government. It wasn't a "senior Al Shabaab official" who has been releasing all the info on our military actions.

Well I think knowing who was at the villa and was naturally the target, and a sea based American commando snatch team attacking from the sea, and carrier based attack helicopters made it pretty clear that it was probably SEALS.
I wonder why no one seems concerned about Delta being outed on their snatch (if that was verified)? It seems like that snatch team could have been left unidentified.
I’m surprised Obama didn’t blame the shutdown.
Now that he’s not captured and not killed he can seek his revenge. Whose idea was that?
