WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police in Washington are reviewing the use of officers' deadly force in the killing of a woman who tried to ram her car through a White House barrier, a shooting her family says was unjustified.

Yep
Here is the eyewitness account of the shooting. They removed the child before emptying their clips into her.

They will try to justify filling her full of lead by saying that they gave her an order but she refused to comply. However that excuse went the way of the sliderule 40 years ago.
One. Let's start with one. I need one single person to be directly in danger. Not a gate, but a person. Not a "what might possibly happen", but a logical conclusion.
She was threatening no one. She bashed a metal gate. There is no indication post mortem that she intended harm against anyone.
Crazy or confused people smashing into objects shouldn't be put down like mad dogs.
If it turns out that she was trying to hit a policeman with her car, then there starts to be justification, but how exactly does it work when a large group of policeman surround a vehicle, fire 50-60 shots at the driver, and then claim self-defense?
...arguments deploying reductio ad absurdum hardly add to the debate.
Like pointing out that 20,000 people were in danger? Yea, I agree.
Of course, and I’m not discounting that fact. All I’m saying is that regardless of what the media puts out, engaging in some basic common sense, I come up with a different version.
It’s sickening to realize how much we do not know, and equally disgusting to know how much more occurs that we never even know about. Which today I’m thinking is a good thing, I’m on info overload as it is!
She was driving east on Constitution at speeds up to 80 miles an hour. It is a very busy street with tourists crossing all the time. If she started near the White House, she had to go right by the Monument. That seems a little threatening to me. And as far as headed towards the tens of thousands in the office buildings, how were the police to know that she didn’t have an explosive device in her car? Her behavior was erratic in the extreme. All in all, I still give the police the benefit of the doubt until I hear the entire story, and not jump to the conclusion that they all are trigger-happy morons.
Do I also get to shoot speeders and people driving erratically, or will I get charged with murder? Yep, murder. Yet, at the time she was killed, the car was not speeding nor charging toward tourists, so what was your point again? With 50-60 rounds, which is what the police fired, I can easily disable a car so it won't go anywhere, yet these cops went for the kill. Why? If you saw a black woman in a car with an infant bashing a gate, would your first reaction be, "OMG I have to kill that woman right now!"? I hope not. So why is it OK that the police acted in that manner?
As I stated before, they did nothing but euthanize a person with mental illness, who had done nothing more serious than cause some minor property damage.
I am sure you are right.
