At work today and listening to Conservative Talk Radio, I have heard 4 PSA ads in one half hour. One is using children to give voice to garbage and encourage the public to recycle. That number will work out to 8 PSAs an hour. All promoting the Obama's (Barry and Moochelle) agenda wasting taxpayer monies.
FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time)
I hear 6-8 PSAs per hour - often more - on almost every station. What a waste of our money.
It is not only on the radio.... I have seen two F.A.S.T. billboards in North Carolina...
What’s with all those FBI ads too???
Having worked in radio, I know that the PSAs are aired for free. They fill space allocated for commercials but which at airtime remained unsold. And when license renewal times come up the station can boast how many PSAs they ran over the years as their public service commitment. Believe me, we’d rather have sold the time slots to a paying advertiser.
The Ad Council is a Propaganda tool beyond who is in power at the time — it’s goal is to promote the Statist bureaucracy that malignantly grows regardless of who is in the WH. I have heard these ridiculous ads when Bush was president, too.
One in particular caught my ear: “In America, 1 out 4 children go to bed hungry every night.”
Really??? Do the math. How many kids are growing up as an only child? Not many in my experience. So that means, 1 out of 2-3 FAMILIES have children who are going “hungry.” Does anyone believe that nonsense???? So, I did some research on where this statistic came from and realized quickly that the survey was totally bogus. Tell that to the Food Network who wants to show they care.
You have to be a pretty sorry adult in America if your child is starving. There are all sorts of ways to feed your kids if you don’t have the money. You can get three meals a day at most public day care centers and govt. schools. If you have too much pride to do that, then that’s a whole other issue.
Any way they can waste money, they will.
PSA’s used to be written/produced by large ad agencies, and run free, by all media, many years ago, when I was in the industry, on Madison Ave in NYC. Now, it’s big business, as radio/newspaper/tv/outdoor revenues are dropping due to many factors and US Taxpayer monies are funneled into them, from the endless gov’t tax-teat.
My most hated is the one where they claim if you’re good at video games or break dancing, that translates to you being good college material.
I hate guvmint PSAs. They’re a daily unwanted reminder of FEDGUV INC’s intrusion into every single aspect of our lives.
