Meet Sylvia Burwell, the woman who ordered the government shutdown
NBC News ^ | 10/02/13 | Elizabeth Chuck

A single person shut down the entire U.S. government for the first time in 17 years.

Not a congressman, but an unelected woman named Sylvia Burwell who, as the relatively new director of the Office of Management and Budget, sent the email that initiated the process that has closed national parks, visitors’ centers and even the “panda-cam” at the National Zoo.

"Agencies should now execute plans for an orderly shutdown due to the absence of appropriations," Burwell wrote in a memo to heads of executive departments and agencies Monday night as it became clear lawmakers had failed to agree on a budget deal.

"She became an extremely skilled negotiator," John Podesta told Bloomberg.

Check out Burwell Wikipedia page.

The Non Governmental Organizations (NGO)(privately and governmentally financed) are where Socialist/Fascist Authoritarian oriented people get their training and anti-republican orientations; all the while drawing good salaries. I would include in this group the Education Systems, both public and private. In New York State the Speaker of the Assembly is the dispenser of the Democrap largesse to the NGOs who in turn promote the Fascist/Socialist agenda "without government funds." YOU WILL DO AS I TELL YOU OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES HEIL THE KENIAN-AMERICAN FUEHER

Ex-Clinton aide to tell of Foster `burn bag’ - Senate Whitewater hearings continue with focus on death of deputy counsel
The Washington Times - Tuesday, July 25, 1995
Author: Jerry Seper, THE WASHINGTON TIMES

A former White House aide has told congressional investigators she was ordered to have a bag of documents burned after they were retrieved from a White House suite housing the office of Vincent W. Foster Jr. on the night of the deputy counsel’s July 1993 death.

Sylvia M. Mathews said in a deposition that she was aware some of the documents in the bag were from the Foster office but that White House Counsel Bernard W. Nussbaum decided the papers were not relevant and ordered them destroyed.

Ms. Mathews, a White House special assistant at the time, now serves as chief of staff at the Treasury Department.

As the second week of special Senate Whitewater committee hearings gets under way today, Ms. Mathews is expected to be grilled by Republicans on the special committee - led by Sen. Lauch Faircloth of North Carolina - about the “burn bag” she retrieved from a cleaning crew after Mr. Foster’s body was found in a Northern Virginia park.

The special committee also will ask other witnesses, including former top Clinton adviser David Watkins, why a White House aide with no security clearance was sent to search the Foster office the night of his death while U.S. Park Police were barred because of “national security” reasons.

“It’s clear the committee will be looking to question White House aides very carefully on what happened to that bag, and why there were national security concerns about Park Police officers entering the office but no similar concerns about White House staff,” said a source close to the committee.

Ms. Mathews, according to a summary of her committee deposition, told Senate investigators that after hearing no note was found with Mr. Foster’s body on July 20, 1993, she retrieved the “burn bag” taken by a cleaning crew from the White House counsel’s suite.

She said she took it to the office of Roy Neel, then the White House deputy chief of staff.

She told investigators Mr. Nussbaum was immediately notified that the bag had been recovered; he decided that because it had been not in Mr. Foster’s office, but in the White House counsel’s suite, it should be burned because of the “sensitivity of the documents.”

Ms. Mathews said she was aware that some of the documents in the bag were credit-card receipts from Mr. Foster. It was not clear yesterday, however, what specific papers from the Foster office would have been in the bag.

She also told investigators that Dee Dee Myers, White House press secretary at the time, was present when the bag was turned over to Mr. Neel.

Time for a SUPER ENEMA.

The ‘Mountain Lion’ family of 6 were standing on a hill and observing a group of Politicians on ‘retreat’ sitting around a campfire.

With a mighty roar they charged down the hill and ate the Pols they could catch.

The son, a recent College Graduate, said “Dad, wouldn’t we be better off sneaking up on them and we could capture them all”

Dad replied “Son, it doesn’t matter— at least when we roar and charge down the hill it scares the “$hiite” out of them, which we can’t eat anyway. The rest are just as lazy and we will get to them soon enough”.

Wasn't it the OMB that also decreed that the Congress would be exempted from Obamacare?

The OMB director “assists the president in overseeing the preparation of the federal budget and in supervising its administration in federal agencies,” according to the White House website.

OMB “oversees and coordinates the administration’s procurement, financial management, information and regulatory policies,” according to the website.

THANK YOU!!! I was reading the thread to get to a ping I received and waded through that juvenile nonsense. It's a waste of time and a diversion (ironic, ain't it?) from the serious business that needs to be dealt with.

NBC is very good at posting stories on the internet that never get to any of their broadcast outlets. ABC does it too.

Actually the orders were from the White House to shut down those federal programs that would have the most visible impact and inflict the most pain on the American people.

She is only the one who sounded the horn. The petty, nasty little unhappy liberal "we'll make you suffer for not giving us our way" policies didn't originate with one person, but a horde of petty pencil-necks who stay up late nights thinking of ways to get even with the folks who pay their salaries.

The bottom line is that they are spending more to crap on the American People than they would have to just keep these parks and monuments operating normally.

How much did it cost to deploy miles of road cones to keep people from pulling over and looking at the scenery?

Whoever is behind the most egregious of these asinine actions should be fired with prejudice, never to work for the American People again, unless they're wearing an orange jumpsuit.
