On October 4, 2013 Rep. Randy Weber of Texas asked for and was granted permission to address the United States House of Representatives for a few minutes regarding the government shutdown. At which point things got kinda emotional as he vowed he would never surrender.
Mr. Speaker, in 1836, a dictator showed up at the Alamo in Texas and demanded a complete, full surrender without negotiation. William Travis responded with a cannon shot: There will be no surrender.
Now comes the President and the Senate Majority Leader demanding that this House of Representatives surrender. We will not surrender. We are fighting for the American people. Tea partiers knew in the Colonies that King Georges dictatorial methods wouldnt be tolerated. We wont tolerate them here. Like it or not, Mr. President and the Senate Majority Leader, this House is a part of this process. We understand that we are fighting for the American people. We will not surrender. We are going to fight to make sure that we keep our liberty. Americans expect nothing less and deserve nothing less, he said.
I am Randy Weber and damn proud to be an American, said Rep. Weber with tears in his eyes (source: Congressional Record http://thomas.loc.gov).

is that headline correct?
Doesn’t seem to gibe with the article.
The title of this thread and article are misleading.
Weber, I feeling is completely mutual.
Pardon me. The feeling is completely mutual.

What a weird a$$ headline. It does NOT indicate what the Rep said. He said “We will never surrender”. That was just after calling out the Senate majority leader and the President for wanting the House to surrender.
Headline writers can be disingenuous at best
Evidently should be "for the Tea Party Republicans", not "to the Tea Party Republicans".
democrats are shifting to ‘power meth’ mode, i see.
i wonder if santa anna also thought he was the good guy, like these commie knobs do.
I see Rep. Weber wants a looooong government shutdown. Who put him in charge?
i see either the msm created a misleading headline or it was copied wrong.
I suspect a bad wording: "There will be no surrender for the Tea Party Republicans works better.
