**SNIP**
Baker quite likely started to sense that maybe his time was up in Cincinnati. Maybe thats why he said what he said. The last couple weeks, Ive been getting a rash of hate mail, racial mail, he said. Maybe it is time to go.
This is really ugly, he said. There are all sorts of references to Barack Obama. So now I know where they are coming from. I dont know, maybe people are mad at him, so they dont like the idea of blacks in authority.

I can’t wait for him to provide all that verifiable email or letters.
Who is Dusty Baker?
Shocking that Baker could be that dumb...
It’s cause he’s black and not cause he’s incompetent..
Maybe he’s not stupid..... just not smart..
I am so very tired of them constantly playing the ‘race’ card for their messiah’s failures.
Cincinnati is crazy to fire their most successful coach in 40 years. They probably won’t be good again for 10 years.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
And...
When in doubt, play the race card.
90-72. Not incompetent.
Lou Piniella got fired by the Reds too. And he’s not black...
Reckon what racial mail is?
With Baker, he had 90 wins 3 out of 4 seasons. Why would you fire that manager? They hadn't won 90 games since 1999.
Actually pretty easy, 2 up on the Giants last year in the playoffs and they lost 3 at home. This year the Pirates made them look like pikers and in 2010 the Phils swept them including a no-hitter. You can’t fire the players and you can’t fire the owners so guess who gets the pop.
90 wins is still 90 wins. Is it better for the owner that they’ll go back to 60 wins. Some owners are crazy.
It was the Marge Schott Era. She later fired Davey Johnson because he was living with his girlfriend, urn married.
Who the hell is Dusty Baker?
BS. Frank Robinson managed in the 70s. Since then we've had Cito Gaston, Hal McRae, Willie Randolph, Felipe Alou, and Ron Washington, and that's just off the top of my head.
Rumor has it that Ozzie may be coming to town.
Baker has a bad attitude and always has.
The best I can say it’s baseball, managers don’t last long and are usually the fall guy whether it’s their fault or not, when Manual was fired this year he was the longest tenured active manager in the majors with 8 years.
Probably a pretext, as she planned to let him go before the season. 73, 66, 85. But he made the NLCS in his final season, getting sweeped. He never got along with Schott. But he never got along with Mets ownership, or Orioles ownership, either.
