A high school student who grabbed a National Rifle Assn. T-shirt in her hurry to find something to wear to school was later confronted outside class by campus officials who forced the student to remove her shirt or face possible disciplinary action, the girl’s parents said.

Haley Bullwinkle heeded the demand, took off the white T-shirt and slipped on a school shirt that officials at Canyon High in Anaheim handed her, but came home confused and frightened, said her father, who got the shirt when he joined the NRA.

Damages from the personal stash of the perp(s) would seem to be in order.

Generally, the teachers in the Anahiem Districts are conservative or Republican.

The District Administration, on the other hand, rumor has it, has been completely overrun by homosexuals and is trending left-wing fast.

This incident got a lot of attention on local talk radio, which probably generated a lot of angry calls and e-mails to the school and its officials.

Of course if she had a shirt with Che Guevara, or Pol Pot or some other murdering communist thug, that would be OK.

The poor girl is probably already used to getting hassled with a last name like Bullwinkle. I know I have a name that people have bugged me about for the past 50 or so years.

The NRA keeps sending me hats... I’ve got about six of them. You must have to sign up for two or three years at one time to get a T-shirt.

If you become a life member the NRA never sends you anything for free again. In fact they never sent me the belt buckle they promised for that.

I have been on a tight budget so I send them money every year and it seems like it is always another baseball cap. I don’t ask for it... it just shows up. I have never worn baseball caps in my life. On the West side of Washington State we don’t get enough sun to need one. If they sent me one with ear flaps it might get used.

I like their black cap w/scrambled eggs on the brim but I got one from them when I joined and one from my former fil. I sent them bunches of money for several years after becoming a life member but never got anymore trinkets from them. I joined RMGO and GOA last year and will give any money I can spare to them from now on.

Why didn’t you call them and get one?

They’re like my USGA annual dues. They just send me one. I’m from the Pac NWest too and caps block the rain.

Anaheim Hills is, I believe, County and the school is in the Orange Unified School District.

I have just never got in the habit of wearing them... maybe I will try. I do wear them out at the range for a tiny bit of protection along with my safety glasses and hearing protection in case I have some type of malfunction. I reload almost all of the cartridges that I use; some of the pistol brass have more than enough space to inadvertantly double charge. I use both a turret and a progressive press and churn out hundreds in a session. I try to keep a close eye on them but stranger things have happened.

Good.

I suspect some officials are ignorant to the important boundaries in life.

“In 2012 Canyon High School made headlines for its “Seniores” and “Señoritas” events in which students dressed as gang members and a pregnant woman pushing a baby stroller.

The school, which approved the event, has since canceled it after determining the activities were demeaning toward Latinos and their culture.”

LOL - Don’t you just love diversity?

If you have a child in one of these schools you should know that they make up rules as they go.

There’s a gradeschool a few towns over from me that had a “diversity day” about 15 years ago. They turned white children away at the door.

I haven’t heard of another “diversity day” there since that story broke.

I _do_ wonder if any of those white children “internalized” the lesson...
