A Washington, D.C. watchdog group filed an ethics complaint against U.S. Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Lubbock, for his spat with a park ranger at the National World War II Memorial earlier this week.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a complaint Friday morning, Oct. 4, with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Neugebauer for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House, according to a news release from the organization.
Rep. Neugebauers mistreatment of a federal employee who was doing her job is disgraceful, Melanie Sloan, the groups executive director, said in a news release. The blame for the government shutdown and the resulting closure of the memorials lies squarely on the shoulders of lawmakers like Rep. Neugebauer who refuse to fund our government.
The group claims Neugebauers conduct violates House Rule 23, which requires all members of the House conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House.
By publicly assailing a federal employee who was acting in accordance with the will of the House and attempting to coerce the ranger to allow access to the memorial despite the fact that federal law requires its closure Rep. Neugebauer abused his position, the release states.
Rep. Neugebauers demeaning treatment of the ranger reinforces the commonly held belief that members of Congress are arrogant and have an over-inflated sense of superiority, Sloan said via the release. The House cannot permit its members to berate federal employees for a government shutdown for which Congress is responsible. Rep. Neugebauer needs to be held accountable for his reprehensible conduct.
Neugebauer and a spokeswoman for the Office of Congressional Ethics were not immediately available for comment Friday morning.

Ugh, looks like every feminist moron I’ve ever met.
This is well past the point of ridiculous. I thought we were the laughing stock of the world a few years back, now we are just damn pathetic.
