A sad statesman || At UN, Netanyahu spoke to a world that refused to listen

Whether credible or not, the Israeli military threat made a major comeback in New York on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to the UN General Assembly Tuesday night very different from his previous ones: It lacked reproach, gimmicks and thrills. The arguments were factual and germane. Passion was kept at bay. It was clear that the Israeli statesman speaking to a thinly populated hall in New York, and to an anemic American public opinion, was a sad statesman. Once...

At UN, Netanyahu spoke to a world that refused to listen

After Iran starts WWIII and nukes someone, if there's anyone left, they will look back at his speech as prophetic. As a counterpoint, they will look at the amateurish foreign policy of the Communist Community Organizer as a lesson on what NOT to do.

News Item on this entry at the blog regarding a conference:

Is the Prime Minister correct? Are Bible prophecies coming to pass “in our time”? Conference in NYC to address this subject October 3-5.

My son pointed this out to me.

The gathering storm. History repeats: "This is not a question of fighting for Danzig or fighting for Poland. We are fighting to save the whole world from the pestilence of Nazi tyranny and in defense of all that is most sacred to man." - (1939) Winston Churchill

His speech reminds me of those Winston Churchill made in the 1930s warning of the danger Hitler posed to the world. Churchill was ignored and PM Neville Chamberlain appeased Hitler with a phony agreement and then declared "peace in our time". Within months Hitler invaded Poland and started WW-II.

It is deja vue with Obama being willing to appease Iran and will similarly declare peace in the Middle East.

From the link at post #6:

***************************EXCERPT************************************

(Washington, D.C.) — As the week began, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered an historic address in New York City in which he told the gathered world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly opening session that “in our time the Biblical prophecies are being realized.”

What did the Prime Minister mean? Is it true that Biblical prophecies are coming to pass in our lifetime? If so, which ones, and what might be coming next? What does the Bible say about the future of Israel?

As the week comes to a close, a special conference is taking place in New York City — “The People, The Land, and The Future of Israel (Oct 3-5)” — which will bring together some of the leading theologians in the Western world to address these and related questions:

The timing is quite interesting. I am deeply honored to have been invited to participate, and am greatly looking forward to speaking in several sessions, including delivering the final message at the close of the conference on Saturday evening. My focus will be understanding current trends in Israel, Iran, Syria, and the Mideast peace process in light of Bible prophecy. The pastor of Calvary Baptist Church has also asked me to preach during their Sunday morning services. There I will be focusing on Israel and key elements of Bible prophecy, as well.

To see the full conference schedule, please click here.

That said, even if I wasn’t speaking at the conference, I would be attending just to hear the caliber of the scholars who will be presenting. They are men I hold in high regard. Their research and writing has been helpful to me, and it will be a joy to be gathered with them in one place.

This CPM conference will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Manhattan. If you live anywhere near Manhattan, I hope you will register today and join us. Indeed, even if you don’t live near New York, I’d strongly encourage you to prayerfully consider attending any way. It will be that useful and important, especially in the light of current events and the Prime Minister’s fascinating and historic words.

An excellent observation. Sadly we are not the country today that we were then. Time is running out...

I have pondered the problem of Iran’s nuclear ambitions for a long time now.

I see absolutely no chance that Israel will fail to strike the Iranian nuclear sites.

In a saner world, with a decent man at the helm in the USA, it would be possible to take out those nuclear sites with conventional arms from the air.

But Israel will have to go in alone, and the only way they can utterly destroy the sites is with troops on the ground carrying out demolition.

The only realistic way they can operate on the ground is to use neutron weapons to clear the sites and keep them clear. Unfortunately this necessary use of neutron weaponry has a good chance of igniting WW3.

The Israelis will NOT go to the ovens easily this time! Never again truly does mean, never again.

I see it all starting early one dark night with a large salvo of cruise missiles launched by Israeli subs. At the same time, Israeli jets will annihilate Iran’s air power and command and control. Several small EMP weapons will also probably be used. Then before the smoke clears, Israeli forces would be on the ground at the nuclear sites.

Thanks for the link.

Very powerful staement by a leader of the Highest Quality....This Man will Act to protect his people whether or not other World Leaders will act to protect their peoples.

Point that may be missed by others and the ZHeadline Witers....he stated that other leaders in the Middle East were beginning to recognize Isreal as a Friend and to

realise the threat of the radical regime in Iran.

Much can be read in to that statement.

Netanyahu may be getting the reputation of the boy who cried wolf about a nuclear Iran. He’s been warning of Iran being close to getting a bomb since the days of Bill Clinton’s presidency. Iran’s Hezbollah in Lebanon is a real threat in existence right now that is much more a threat to Israeli lives than a possible Iranian bomb would ever be.

If anyone needs to worry about Iran’s nukes it’s the Palestinians. An Iranian nuke landing in Israel will kill thousands of Palestinians also. Which means there will be no homeland for them because there will be no homeland.

And Israel will still have the second strike.
