We need climate-change risk assessment
Washington Post ^ | October 3, 2013 | By Michael Bloomberg, Hank Paulson and Tom Steyer

Posted on 10/04/2013 6:50:56 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

If the United States were run like a business, its board of directors would fire its financial advisers for failing to disclose the significant and material risks associated with unmitigated climate change.

Government officials, economists, financiers and everyone else in the business community need to ask: How much economic risk do we face from unmitigated climate change? Answering this question would go a long way toward helping us all prepare for the extreme weather and related economic effects that are most likely coming our way.

We believe the Risky Business initiative will bring a critical missing piece to national conversations about climate change and help business leaders, elected officials and others make smart, well-informed, financially responsible decisions. Ignoring the potential costs could be catastrophic. That is a risk we cannot afford to take.

Another name change for this hoax. Now it’s “unmitigated” climate change. Cool.

We also need to assess the risks and costs of mitigated climate change.
The effectiveness, side effects and price tag on the methods used and the sacrifices made should indeed be discussed.
It would be a lot better than the lefts claim that we have to do *something* doesn't matter what, and we have to do it *now* no matter the cost.

Michael Bloomberg:We need climate-change risk assessment

No, what you need is a psych evaluation to determine whether you are competent to stand trial (along with all of the other tax revenue stealing parasites posing as "scientists") for fraud.

Looks like the extortion business worked out so well for Paulson back in ‘08 he’s decided to give it another go.

I’m guessing this will also be the end of the world, just as not bailing out the banksters would have been.

Risky Business indeed.

Hank Paulson? The same dummy who knelt in front of Nancy Pelosi, begging the Democrats to okay TARP in ‘08 so his thousands of shares of Goldman Sachs wouldn’t be devalued? And it worked. The U.S. Treasury bailout magically let GS recover 100 cents on the dollar, the only major financial entity to come out smelling like a rose.

Hank Paulson should be in federal prison, instead of writing anti-conservative screed for the Leftist press.

Mayor Bloomberg, et al, need to read "Blue Planet in Green Shackles" by Vaclav Klaus, former president of the Czech Republic. He is an economist, and he has looked at the cost/benefit of mitigation. It doesn't pay out.

And then there's Bjorn Lomborg. He's a socialist, and regrettably, believes that global warming is a serious problem. But he believes the mitigation methods proposed by environmentalists will do more harm than good. From Wikipedia, here is a paragraph about one of Lomborg's books:

Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist's Guide to Global Warming, also published in 2007, argues against taking immediate and "drastic" action to curb greenhouse gases while simultaneously stating that "Global warming is happening. It's a serious and important problem ...". He argues that "... the cost and benefits of the proposed measures against global warming. ... is the worst way to spend our money. Climate change is a 100-year problem — we should not try to fix it in 10 years.

More recently, there's this wonderful site with very interesting interviews of some leading skeptics:

50 to 1 Video Project

The cost of mitigation, as Australia was attempting to do it, vs. the cost of not mitigating, was 50:1.

These people just do not quit. They are content to ignore significant facts (e.g. climate change occurred long before SUVs and incandescent light bulbs) that don’t jibe with their hysteria. Oddly enough, and much to my delight, I don’t think even the low-information voters are buying it, which only means our rulers will likely force more laws and regulations down our throats whether we like it or not.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls our climates.

3. The earth is a rock.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

That “Risk Assessment” was complete long ago.

The cost of attempting to change things we ultimately CAN NOT CHANGE, is unaffordable and a complete waste of time and money.

The entire AGW hoax was concocted to garner support for a long standing anti-capitalist, and eugenicist, population control agenda.

Three strait jackets and a supply of appropriate meds is the solution for the insane authors. We've had quite enough of the consequences of their collective stupidity already.
