Ted Cruz: If Dems are right and we’re doomed to fail, why are they screaming so loudly and getting
The Right Scoop ^ | 10/3/13 | The Blaze

Ted Cruz was on with Glenn Beck this morning and made the following excellent point:

“If they [Democrats] are right — that what we’re doing is hopeless, is doomed to fail, which mind you they’ve been telling us for months — then why are they screaming so loudly? Why are they getting so personal? Why are they so filled with hate and fear? And it’s because the American people are mobilized, are passionate and energized and even worse, understand that Obamacare is hurting millions of Americans, and that has the Left terrified out of their minds.”

The administration even argued court that it was NOT a tax.

My understanding is that the three branches of government are all necessary in fully vetting a law. They all three play a part in the check and balance process. It is the JOB of SCOTUS to determine if a law, duly passed though it might be, is Constitutional when brought before them as a suit. Justice Roberts and the other cohorts on his side failed to do their job as defined by the Constitution. I saw his interpretation as a cowardly way to appease the executive branch rather than “balance” it.

The left relies on GOP surrendering without a fight. The last thing they want to be stuck defending is the very unpopular Obamacare. We’ve seen their hysterics. They aren’t winning this debate. The GOP has problems because of its squish caucus. If the GOP were united in the defense of liberty and the defense of jobs and the economy the Democrats wouldn’t have any place to hide. Instead we still have the GOP Democrat lifeguard teams in action failing to realize that the time for argument over tactics is over. The shutdown has occurred there is one choice now and that is to win and that takes unity.

The last we in the grass roots want to be stuck doing is fighting with those who should be with us but Rove, King and others are proving themselves to be just hard line progressive Republicans. They don’t see Obamacare as a threat but an opportunity for power and that is why we see what we see. Honestly we should’ve seen this coming under the Bush admin.

The healthcare law gives the federal government power it is not authorized to have by the Constitution, and is therefore unconstitutional.

Wrong!

Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution states ... "The Congress shall have Power ...To ... provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States," and ... "To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested in this Constitution in the Government of the United States or in any Department or Officer thereof."

Cruz is the smartest man in D.C. There is a wide chasm before you get to the next smartest.

?re you saying the general welfare clause allows this (the ACA)? There was some ruling from the justices of the supremes that basically ruled that idea out IIRC.

There is absolutely nothing in that quote from Article I that you just cited that gives the federal government the power to regulate individuals’ healthcare, nor to force them to pay for health insurance. Go back and read the 10th Amendment, then read Article I again, and tell me where the fed gets all of this magical power. Limitation of the federal government by granting only specifically enumerated powers was THE WHOLE POINT of the US Constitution.

"Ted Cruz: If Dems are right and we’re doomed to fail, why are they screaming so loudly..."

The day has come for the healthcare customer to sign on the dotted line and some of the Republican guys are warning that you better read the contract again while demRATs are screaming no.

Look familiar?

Damned straight. McCain and Lindsey would have NEVER gone for these strategies. Cruz is a fighter, not a yellow belly.

I swear, he will have to watch his back from all sides... the GOPe and the Dems.

I wonder what will happen when is family starts getting threatened.

I hope he doesn’t bow out like most of our hopefuls over the last decade or so.

I want to see him POTUS!

Honestly we should’ve seen this coming under the Bush admin.

GHWB's advocacy of The Third Way should've been one of our clues.

Not too far, Mike Lee is right there. If you listened to him during the filibuster, he went after the SCOTUS with a vengence. Well deserved I might add.

Not sure if it’s smarts that are lacking, as much as it’s the will and grit to be bold and confident.

So did Hitler and Mussolini

But, fortunately, unlike Hitler and Mussolini, Zero needs a teleprompter.

Here for example, from March 1929, watch Benito address "the American nation" "from Alaska to Florida":

Would that our President's Austrian be as good as Mussolini's English!

Well...I’ve always believed it is they that allowed the country to become Communist in the first place.

This is one the big reasons I’m not a fan of immigrants from Mexico. They work hard, yes. But they will come over here and end up voting for the same exact stuff that ended up causing them to flee Mexico in the first place.

Good catch.

Also, before taking power Hitler was a community organizer and Mussolini was a journalist.

I thought O-care wasn’t constitutionally passed but was instead ‘deemed to have passed’ by madame Pelosi. Maybe that’s good enough for some around here?

Actually it was passed as a budget resolution measure. That was the only way the DemocRATS could get the vote count.

I firmly believe that when his term is over, Barack Obama will live the rest of his life as the most hated and despised person in America. Everywhere he goes he will be booed and hissed at for what he has done. He will never sleep soundly again.
