Ted Cruz was on with Glenn Beck this morning and made the following excellent point:
If they [Democrats] are right that what were doing is hopeless, is doomed to fail, which mind you theyve been telling us for months then why are they screaming so loudly? Why are they getting so personal? Why are they so filled with hate and fear? And its because the American people are mobilized, are passionate and energized and even worse, understand that Obamacare is hurting millions of Americans, and that has the Left terrified out of their minds.

The SCOTUS also ruled that slavery was legal. It didn't make it right. The Republican Party killed slavery in this country and if they are smart enough to stick together they will kill obamacare. If nothing else it is a hill worth dying on.
You’re reading correctly.
However that wasn’t my main point.
That mess has now been passed, the GOP needs to double-down for real.
This is it.
You could find (even if reluctant) plenty of people who wanted the GOP to stand for something, but the GOP didn’t.
So Obamacare won out.
That’s ok with me. But now the GOP needs to negotiate hard.
I’m series.
Now take no prisoners.
I believe some of that mobil passion hit the WH gates this afternoon
and they haven’t even started garnishing wages for their bs yet
yea.... that’ll be greaaaat. that’s when they’ll really get to see ‘mobile passion’
I know a person who came to the US from a communist country. He will tell you just how horrible it was. But he votes lock step with socialist democrats. And will argue with you that it’s the republicans who are communists. He’s living proof the liberals are brain damaged.
Actually Obamacare originated in the Senate and they cannot legally write any bill that requires funding, only the House can.
I was stuck in traffic today listening to Medved wailing about what a mistake the “shutdown” is. He’s off here, way off base. Medved cited Congressional approval ratings, but those ratings are garbage since voters like their individual legislators, just not Congress. Obama’s ratings are about Obama, not the institution of POTUS.
Keep in mind that the House was designed to be the most sensitive to the people, the Senate and President, the least. The GOP controls the House because people feared Obamacare and Democrat overreach.
The proof of this is Obama’s wasted effort on gun control. He just doesn’t get it and Harry Reid went along. Obama proved himself the wimp on sequestration and is repeating the error here with the “shutdown”. He can’t learn.
Despite losing the sequestration fight because of intentionally targeting the most harmful cuts, he’s using the same mean spirited tactics today. You can’t be a statesman and a Scrooge. He looks petty and weak, worse the people who advise him look gauzy, light-weight and vindictive. They’ve lost the moral high ground.
If I were an Obama advisor I’d encourage him to be conciliatory, strong and magnanimous. “Folks, we’re fighting to keep these critical services open, despite the rancorous and vengeful TEA Party radicals. We’ll keep the checks flowing and I have asked all government employees to continue to work. Not one of them deserve the title ‘nonessential’. They keep our water and food safe, protect our borders, ports and transportation services, and many more things mostly invisible, but critical to the American public. I salute the job they do and personally guarantee each of them will be paid in full for a job well done.”
Perhaps someone has been suggesting that, but it isn’t in Obama to be conciliatory. He’s a classic faker, somebody Richard J. Daley (Daley the 1st) would have recognized and despised. Obama isn’t really tough and statesmanlike and it shows in his shadow boxing manner. He’s pretending to be something he knows nothing about.
The GOP is never going to have the MSM carry water for our cause, but via twitter, emails and postings the word will get out. The GOP has compromised and has fulfilled its mission in the House to be sensitive to the people’s needs.
All Boehner need do late Sunday night is pass a bill that funds the government in a CR and extends to every individual the very same exemption Pres. Obama and the Democrats approved for themselves and Big Business. The “shutdown” will be nearly a week old. Boehner can check mate them again and again.
It’s a win. Obama and the Democrats main constituency is government. It’s why they’re squealing so loudly.
I think you are kind of right. But I don’t really think that Obama cared whether he won on any of the issues he has screwed us all with- at least not right away.
The communists want to wear us all down. They want us to give up. The actually want anarchy- which in their preverted minds would give them absolute control.
Don’t over think this. They will never stop on any of these issues. They will beat them all like a drum forever.
Thought they were acting the way they are acting simply because they are scumbags. But yes, they could have some type of conspiracy going on. The old miss-direct. /sarc
He is right on —
The pig that gets struck is the one that squeals.
Amen, Ted!
Great thought!
I also like what they are doing passing small funding bills for various depts.
This fight is not just about obamacare, although that is the principal cause. It has morphed into a fight about tyranny vs republican govt. obama keeps saying just do what I tell ya. If the House gives in they might as well just go home because they can only do what obama tells them. Now is the time to stand strong.
Roberts found Obamacare to be a TAX which the admin never EVER presented in the whole process. We were blind sided and lied to..
point blank!
When a commie homo yells in the wilderness does it make noise ? or can anyone hear him ?
The Constitution sets limits on what the government can do. Just because the Congress and president sign a bill doesn’t make it Constitutional. For example, they just wacked DOMA, which was passed by a Congress and signed by a President. A bi-partisan one, too. They also wacked parts of Obamacare to give states opt outs. That was passed by Congress and signed by the president.
You keep saying the GOP never gave any alternatives to Obamacare, and that simply isn’t true. Go back and read the transcripts of Paul Ryan and others at the health care summit sideshow that Obama put on. They offered a variety of things to add to the bill, and all were rebuffed.
The SCOTUS ruled that slaves were property and must be returned to their owners. They were wrong and the Republicans came to power and ended slavery.
The SCOTUS ruled obamacare was legal and the Tea Party, that was born when the law was passed, gained in membership. If the Pubs don't fight to the death to end obamacare (the current crisis is just one fight in that battle) then the Tea Party will have to split from the Pubs and do it.
History repeats!
“If I were to criticize one thing about Palin endorsements, it is that she too often goes with the female even when there are better candidates in the race. More often than not she gets it right, but she does place a very high value on supporting female candidates.”

That is an amazing observation.
I had gone to your inbox just to figure out what I was to say to you.
And found that, about 4 down.
Now I am completely distracted from my original mission.
I support Palin. I supported Palin. I think she is perhaps my #1 pick right now, even with Ted Cruz grabbing all the headlines at the moment.
But that statement you made there, is a huge, and a true statement.
Congratulations.
