President Barack Obama went on a rhetorical offensive against House Republicans on the third day of the federal government shutdown, telling a crowd in Maryland Thursday that there's only one party at fault and one remedy.
"There are enough Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives today that if the speaker of the House, John Boehner, simply let the bill get on the floor for an up or down vote, every congressman could vote their conscience, the shutdown would end today," Obama said in a speech in Rockville, Maryland.
"The only thing that is keeping the government shut down, the only thing preventing people from going back to work, and basic research starting back up, and farmers and small business owners, getting their loans -- the only thing that's preventing all that from happening right now today, in the next five minutes, is that Speaker John Boehner won't even let the bill get a yes or no vote because he doesn't want to anger the extremists in his party."

Let the voters sort it out in November 2014.
he’s in the catbird seat. eventually congress and he have to come to terms. the pressure right now is on congress. sooner or later they’ll have to cave.
"I've bent over backwards".
I think I detect the source of the problem.
"Road to Perdition" as it were
HA HA
How about impeachment.
Or does no one in Congress remember Benghazi?
or 911?
or the Boston Atrocity?
or the released COLE terrorists?
or Fast&Furious?
Let the voters sort it out in November 2014.

Most voters in this country are not capable of making rational, informed decisions. They vote strictly on the basis of images and emotions. There’s not much reason for optimism.
The only thing that the federal government should be doing is the military and border control.
Disagree.
The House can create as many funding bills as it wants; and these bills can be as broad or as specific as the House wants.
The more funding bills they create and the Senate rejects, and the more Obama runs his mouth, the smaller and more petulant the DIMS appear.
Stop believing the MSM and send a letter to your Congressional representatives supporting the shut-down.
"Sorry for going political here, but this is just appalling. This is a post directly from the Obamacare-ACA website. Lord help us now, because our government has run amuck: "
"I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 "Silver Plan" and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I "opt-out" and chose to continue along with no insurance.
I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return.
Then you make it to the "REPERCUSSIONS PORTION" for "non-payment" of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with "Non-Payment" and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home.
You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy "Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is "Free" or even "Affordable."
Hope makes a fine breakfast but a poor dinner.
Obama’s one horse game doesn’t realize that Cruz is playing him and Boner off on each other. I think Cruz ultimately expects Boner to fold and give in on Obamacare, setting up for some clearing of the deck in the primaries.
I think Boner gets it though, and no doubt is desperately looking for a way to get out of this.
Do you have a link handy for the “Repercussions”? I’ve never seen anything like that in any of my research... (I’ll google, but thought I’d ask...)
Thank you Republicans for not backing down and shutting down the government. Maybe now finally Americans will realize that 99% of the government is not needed.

That little tidbit has been making the rounds through FR today but no one (that I’m aware of) has provided anything to verify its authenticity. Can this be confirmed before it’s spread all around?
Wait, I found it. Infowar crap.
Section 1501(g)(2) of the Affordable Care Act states that the IRS cannot “file notice of lien with respect to any property of a taxpayer by reason of any failure to pay the penalty imposed by this section.”
