Carol Johnson w/the Park Service says they were told to close the site by White House's Office of Management & Budget.

Well, well, well. The Park Service is actually about the only functional agency of the US Government and employs a lot of good people (I know some) who are really very devoted to this country and knowledgeable about its history.

I suspect that one of the reasons Obama wanted to close this monument was not only to upset the average American who wants to visit our national parks and monuments, but also to take a dig at the Park Service.
