... Obama’s overtures to Asia have been built on the twin premises that the United States will be a reliable partner and that its democratic values are to be emulated.

But Obama now finds himself preparing to leave for a week-long trip to the region amid the first U.S. government shutdown in 17 years —and facing political pressure to remain in Washington during the crisis.

It marks a potential embarrassment for a president who has expressed a personal interest in strengthening the United States’ position in Asia.

What is REALLY hilarious is that the “journalists” write about an embarrassment for the Clown....as if he is capable.

Same reaction. When has Obama been embarrassed about anything he’s done?

So, now he is going to blame the gop for losing foreign trade.

Perhaps we should have more trade with Asia. I think I will be happy to trade Obama for someone from there. I will even throw in a second person, H Clinton.

Meanwhile, note in the article, last sentence, a nod for Hitlery. Where did this article come from, the dem 2016 campaign people?

Oh he’s capable of embarrassment alright ,,, remember the way the Chinese students laughed him off the stage the last time? Now he’s even deeper in debt to them and he’s refusing to do anything to strengthen the dollar...

Imagine trying to tell Michelle the vacation’s off. Wouldn’t be surprised if she and the girls and their entourage fly out anyway - “in advance - he should be joining us as soon as the crisis is over so we needed to start without him.”

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - President Barack Obama has shortened his planned week-long trip to Asia due to the government shutdown, the White House said Wednesday. Obama is still expected to leave Saturday to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Indonesia followed by an East Asia Summit in Brunei but will now skip subsequent stops in Malaysia and the Philippines. Obama is expected to use the trip to push for completion of the U.S.-led Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement.

The president is in charge of foreign policy. He should make the trip, to conduct foreign policy business, and leave his family at home.

That is what a leader would do.

Which is why Obama will either cancel the trip altogether, or go and take the wife and kids with him.

As long as the gov is shut down, who is going to fly the dog to the gig?

Probably he needs to go bow and thank the CEO of China for putting hard capital in the monetary system in the USA. We are debtors, and he should go give obeisance.
