We have a fireplace in our house, but haven’t used in in the past few years with the mild winters. We have one of the wood burning fire pits we use on cool nights in the back yard. Guess we will have to hide those now.

My outdoor fireplace is for the same thing - heating the deck area - it burns wood or charcoal and has a place to put food to cook/grill as well. I bought it for a back up stove to cook and to burn household trash. It is covered so big pieces of burning paper, etc., will not fly out.
