Oh I agree with you it’s not going to happen.

And I agree they’d open up the border and never cut the benefits.

Just funny that’s their pre-condition lol..

I am NOT an open borders person however. I want them shut because I know they’ll never cut the benefits.

The libertarians are a political force and their agenda includes homosexualizing the military gay marriage, and totally open borders.

The libertarian efforts to destroy conservatism must be opposed regardless of where their ideals find fruit, Obama imposing the libertarian agenda on homosexuality and gay marriage in the military, doesn’t make a conservative less likely to oppose the libertarian agenda especially when this thread is about their gains with the GOP.

That isn't their pre-condition, they don't have any pre-conditions, that was my point, they don't any pre-conditions to any of their radical social agenda.

Do you fight liberal Democrats as hard as you try to divide the small government wing of the GOP?

Every election cycle, GOP libertarians tout one or more candidates as their breakthrough -- a splashy nominee destined to lose, a winning small town commissioner here or there, a few local water and land conservation board posts, and the like. Yet these are sterile efforts and there are not simply enough libertarians to make even a credible caucus or faction in the GOP.

Culturally, lifestyle libertarianism is a potent force -- especially among younger voters -- yet its expression in the Democratic Party has a totalitarian ardor, with the mechanisms of state influence and coercion brought to bear in the schools and in government at large so as to promote gay rights. Medical evidence against marijuana is routinely ignored or minimized in favor of decriminalization.

Meanwhile, although economic libertarianism and fiscal conservatism are generally endorsed by the public in abstract terms, such sentiments are rarely enough to found a campaign, let alone win an election.

For example: Granny is all for low taxes and limits on federal spending -- as long as Medicare and Social Security are not impacted; and Sally Soccer Mom is similarly determined that no skinflintery diminish the public education of her kids. About the only program that a majority of the public wants cut is foreign aid, which is but a relative drop in the massive torrent of federal spending.

And there lies the strategic futility of modern libertarianism: it has abandoned popular advocacy of tax and spending limitation for the sake of sniping at the GOP.

The GOP just ran a pro-abortion, pro gay military candidate who opposed the GOP pro-life platform and ran pro-choice ads in at least two states, one being Ohio (which the GOP lost) and you don’t think they are winning their true agenda, social liberalism?

Who, specifically, are you referring to? If the candidacy was a weak or losing proposition in the general election, then the example will not inspire much in the way of imitation. Ultimately, political candidates, donors, and parties want to win.

Simply remove the "new testament" from your bible.

Problem solved.

Ha. It depends on how one defines “libertarian.”

In the meaning of classic liberalism, with small government, minimal regulation, minimal laws, and pretty much staying out of the way of government? Including little or no government handouts, entitlements?

Or in the new progressive definition of “libertarianism” which means big government, free abortions, free pot, and queer marriage?

The statists leftist already hijacked the work “liberal”; I refuse to let them hijack “libertarian,” too.

no, it means that the person who posted this is willing to cherry pick scripture and twist to mean what he or she wants it to mean....

the constitution is based upon christian principals..

it gives us the freedom to choose christianity..

or not..

each choice without interference from the government..

yes, there is room for christian conservatives..

there is no room for social(ist)conservatives, in other words, those that would force their views on the people via rule of law ( kinda like the communists, socialists, nazis, and all the other groups like them)

the constitution is the only document that will get us out of this mess, we the people were given the power...

to all those that want to rule us, whatever the side of the political spectrum they come from, go to hell...
