Republicans say the GOP-controlled House intends to pass legislation to reopen portions of the government, including national parks and processing of claims at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The House would also allow the government of Washington, D.C. to use its own taxpayer funds to provide services like garbage pickup, as well as keep D.C. employees on the job.

Fund the government piece by piece. Then leave the IRS, EPA, and DOJ unfunded.
Brilliant!
The House Repubs can “a la carte” the few needed gov’t offices that they WANT funded and then send the bills to the bratty GimmeDats (aka democrats) in the Senate and then we’ll see who are the true “obstructionists!!”
This is really brilliant.
Good strategy, but somehow I think the Senate will reject it and call the House anarchists, for make-believe reasons.
Most people will go along with that, when they hear it on Good Morning America.
That’s the way to do it!
I'll bet not. If he does, he'll get an avalanche of small bills from the House designed to lessen the pain of the "shutdown," and that's the last thing the ol' coot wants.
From your lips to God's ears.

“Because of the federal government shutdown, all national parks are closed and National Park Service webpages are not operating.”
I found that at the first page of the national park website. Then it automatically clicked over to working webpages. Just another government lie.
No illegals can cross over through Big Bend National Park and can’t tend their federal land marijuana fields but worst of all Yogi Bear will starve without picnic baskets. Where’s the outrage?
How does DC take itself out?
“Good strategy”
Sorry, meant to say, “Way to do your JOB”
I read something to this effect yesterday and AGREE... VOTE it back piecemeal!!!!!!!!!!! HEAR YE HEAR YE ....BOHENER!! GREAT SUGGESTION HERE!!!!!!....
that’s good!
keep it up house. hope reid gives us at least a blessed month. the longer the shutdown goes, the greater our leverage.
Selective funding will only work for items that are easily understood and widely supported by the public. Reid will only act if he is shamed into it, as with the military and now with national parks. Forget discussing Article 1, Section 8 or shutting down, say, Justice. Stick to high-visibility mom and apple pie items.
I just heard the top of the hour ABC News brief on the radio, where Vic Rattner said that the Senate rejected another House bill without saying anything about what the House bill was.
They don't want their listeners to find out how reasonable the House bills are, or how unreasonable Harry Reid is becoming, they just want people to know that the Senate is rejecting House bills.

THAT is what freedom and courage looks like! God bless the Greatest Generation.
Then they’ll get the blame for “keeping school kids, retirees, foreign tourists and everyday Americans” out of OUR parks, and national monuments (just look what happened with the Veterans at the WWII Memorial!)?
The house should send one of their many budget bills back to the senate and offer a clean CR... once the Senate passes the budget...
Of course, the budget wouldn’t fund Obamacare.

B-I-N-G-O!
Well then he’ll be blamed FOR KEEPING AMERICANS OUT OF OUR N’TNL PARKS, (and so on with each ~necessary~ and popular provision of the Federal Government)!
Sen. Harkin was apparently there. Was on the phone trying to phone the secretary of Interior to no avail. What a joke. Just open the gates and turn on the fountains. Rep. Steve King was there to help open the gates.
But if Obama said Obamacare is already funded and he doesn’t need those annoying Republicans, what’s the big deal?
Just let them pass with a defunded Obamacare, why should he be worried about it?
