Just hours after debuting online, the new marketplace for Obamacare has apparently crashed.
Consumers are supposed to use Healthcare.gov as an outlet to sign up for coverage, but just after selecting the state where we wanted to enroll, an error message popped up citing heavy traffic from too many visitors.
We tried to engage a customer service representative via the site's Live Chat feature, but after 15 minutes of waiting and no response, we gave up.
We're not too fussed. Kinks are bound to happen this early in the site's roll out, and at least heavy traffic signals that consumers are eager to find out more about the new exchange.
If you'd like to read up on how the new health care exchange works, you can access this FAQ from the site perfectly fine.

LOL
They will claim it is the Tea Party doing this.
Next thing we’ll hear that it’s a crime to go to the obamacare website for any reason other than to sign up.
They won’t be able to fix it because of the government shutdown.
Seems like it needs 10 times the traffic!
Yahoo News just had an article about the glitches in the web site, but the article vanished within minutes of it going up. I guess the media watchers in the government are still on the job and making sure the media is saying the “correct” things.
RE: They wont be able to fix it because of the government shutdown.
There ya go... the Democrats and Obama (using his bully pulpit ) and the lackey press will blame this huge problem on Republican sabotage.
Nah, more likely they'll claim it's proof positive that millions of people are clamoring for Obamacare and that they're all geniuses for implementing it.

You can’t hide it. It’s all over the internet.

We should all sign up, using made up names of course
I've been predicting it for about two weeks.
Joking aside, think about this -— Kathleen Sebelius has had since March 2010 to prepare for open enrollments October 2013 rollout. Besides churning out thousands of pages of regulations, what have she and her army been doing?
Someone performing as Sebelius has in the private sector would have been fired at least a year ago, when it become obvious that her implementation plan having already missed critical deadlines almost two years ago was still hopelessly behind.
Instead, Sebelius and the administration unilaterally, and illegally, delayed imposing the employer mandate requiring companies to cover full-time employees defined as any employee who works an average of 30 hours per week for one year. The political motivation behind this cop-out is so transparent, one wonders if the delay wasnt hard-coded in the plan. There has been no change in the individual mandate, which requires individuals and families to have health insurance coverage beginning next year or face a fine. So the employer mandate delay combined with the still-present individual mandate will force more Americans into the state health insurance exchanges. The administration is likely intent on making the process of undoing the exchanges as difficult as possible.
A responsible steward of taxpayer dollars would never have considered opening the exchanges in their current state of disarray.
But no, it will be spinned by the lackey press to the low information voters as SABOTAGE by the GOP and their desire for a government shutdown.
And they still think GOVERNMENT is the best body to control your personal healthcare? UN-FREAK-ING BELIEVABLE!!!!
Well, given their penchant for attacking and lying about the Tea Party, if they don’t blame the tea party they’re missing a bet...
Besides, right here on FR people are admitting and chortling about going there for no reason other than to mess with it.
Glenn Beck was talking about it on his radio show, that is, doing it himself along with his radio sidekicks also doing it.
The Leftards monitor this site and conservative talk radio therefore they know.
Easiest thing for them to do is to say the Tea Party is crashing the website that would otherwise be giving you affordable healthcare.
Because the TP wants you to go without healthcare.
If they don’t, well, they missed a golden opportunity.
If they do - then - true to form.
At that point, with the country suspicious of the NSA, wondering if they’ll dare say they’ll know where to find you (for inappropriate access of a govt website)?
It’s working now.
