Netanyahu is scheduled to speak 8th today at the UN.
Live stream at http://gadebate.un.org/
Live coverage also on cable news channels.
That 32 minute speech had to be one of the more dark and gloomy ones Netanyahu has given.
No graphical aids or humor this time.
This time instead of demanding Iran stay under his red line he demanded that Iran “dismantle” its nuclear program and get rid of its enriched uranium.
I think the changing bar reflects Iran has already breached his red line (although he still won’t admit this) and also that there is now a large gulf between US and Israeli policy regarding Iran.
Hard to tell how much time is left but I don’t think it’s much.
Netanyahu quoted from Reagan and said in the case of Iran we should “distrust, dismantle, and verify”.
Of course Iran giving up the progress they’ve already made is no more likely than Assad giving up his chemicals - there’s no chance in hell!
All roads seem to lead to war now......
Hang in there, Bibi!
Netanyahu was pretty clear with what Israel will do. He said we “will not” allow Iran to get nukes. And he said if they have to, “Israel will go it alone.”
