Mayor Bloomberg said Congress is making the United States “look like a third world country” by threatening to shut down the government this week. DSC_5290.JPG “This is an outrage. They cannot hold the country hostage. This is just plain and simple politics,” Bloomberg said in response to questions about the impending shutdown Monday morning.
“This is going to be devastating to all of Washington. It’s devastating to this country,” he said. “We look like a third world country. It’s going to hurt our economy. It leaves businesses up in the air in terms of making investments.”
Bloomberg said that while Obamacare isn’t a perfect bill, it passed fair and square and should be implemented.
“We’ve for a long time had an enormous problem with healthcare. It’s going to bankrupt us unless we figure out a ways to do something about it,” he said. “I don’t know that this is the perfect bill. It was written by committee. I would have done some things differently. But at this point, it was passed by a majority and we should put it in and see if it works.”
He singled out the health insurance exchanges set to start this week as a promising part of the bill.
“What has to happen here is the public has got to call their senators and congressman and say you just cannot do this. We will not tolerate this and will make you pay the price at the polls,” he said.
“If you want to have an ideological battle there’s plenty of forums for that. And there’s plenty of things that probably could use reform and there probably are things that we could spend less on, but you don’t do it by paralyzing the government,” Bloomberg said.
“And in terms of the healthcare thing, you had a chance to vote against it. The public wanted it. Now I think we’ve gone so far down the road it would be a sin not to try it and see whether it works, and if it works, great, if it doesn’t, you can always fix it.”
While blasting the possibility of a shutdown, Bloomberg downplayed the immediate impact it would have on city government.
“At the beginning it really doesn’t hurt us,” he said, adding the pain would grow if a shut down stretched on. “We’ve talked to every one of our agencies to make sure to the extent possible we can either substitute for what the federal government is doing on a short term basis or learn to cope and figure out how to keep people in the city safe. So it’s not great for anybody.”

The current real projected debt of the US Federal/State/Local governments is greater than the entire current real projected debt of every Third World Country put together.

As soon as the 30 Year Treasury Rate goes above 5.8%, the interest expense on the debt will be greater than the entire Federal Tax and Fee collected each year.
While the GOP is whining over not adding a new ObamaCare expense of $65B annualy, there are hundreds of programs costing well over $650B annually that muts be drastically reduced or cut altogether.
This entire charade is whistling pst the graveyard of the Republic.
Just remember, if the 30 Yr Treasury goes to 7%, the US Dollar, and the US Treasury Bill, will become worthless. There is literally nothing backing our currency and debt expect the US Military, which is now controlled by a post-purge leadership of Obama yes men.
Don’t worry too much about the dinner theater tonight, it’s just a small sideshow for the real collapse in the value of the US Dollar and US Debt.

Psychologists call this projection, as a matter of fact it would probably be beneficial for you and Obama to spend a few hundred hours in therapy.
I ask you, could a third world government oversee everything as does our first would totalitarian state? From: how big our big gulps are, if we eat trans-fats, the wattage of our light bulbs, the amount of water in our toilets, the gas mileage of our cars, the provider of insurance, the education of our children, the contents of our email, the location of our phones, monitor every intersections and sidewalk with video surveillance, and now our sexual history and arms ownership? I think not! Clearly Bloombugger is referring to the skin color of our president and his fashionably hulking wife.
