BAGHDAD (AP) — A wave of car bombs struck mainly in Shiite neighborhoods of Bagdad on Monday morning, killing at least 51 people and wounding dozens more, officials said, the latest in relentless violence roiling Iraq in recent months.
The country's Interior Ministry blamed al-Qaida-linked insurgents, saying they are exploiting the political infighting and security shortcomings to stage attacks.
The deadliest of the day's bombings was in the eastern Sadr City district, where a parked car bomb tore through a small vegetable market and its parking lot, killing seven people and wounding 16, a police officer said.
That was followed by a total of 10 parked car bombs, which went off in quick sequence in the Shiite neighborhoods of New Baghdad, Habibiya, Sabaa al-Bour, Kazimiyah, Shaab, Ur, Shula as well as the Sunni neighborhoods of Jamiaa and Ghazaliyah.

But I thought one of O’s major accomplishments was ending the war in Iraq. Silly me.
Just as well that we’re out of there. Those savages will be pissing in each others laundry for the next 1000 years.
I recognize that this is a very bad thing. Nobody likes to see death handed out randomly by crazy terrorists.
But it just seems to me that this is unlikely to have any real effect on Iraq. It’s just a continuation of Sunni vs. Shia and the Shia are the majority and they control the country and it’s military.
It is, in effect, Allah’s way of sorting things out - as a famous lady once stated. My bet is that in the long run there will be fewer of the Muslim faith in Iraq and otherwise it will be business as usual in the Middle East.
and to think, that region once used to be lush and full of promise.. maybe global varming has had an effect on ‘em. or it could be the cult they belong to. ya never know.
some of the 12 tribes done hit the locoweed pretty good, some of the extremism goes way back,, they’re ‘all-in for allah’ attitude is a real pain for the rest of the folks that know better.

i know saddam, qadaffi, and assad are evil and, if you are one of the opposition, your life is in danger all the time. BUT it seems lees people died in their countries when they were running them than now. of course it could have covered up more like CNN did with saddam but, in these 3 caes, Christians were more protected than with the moosie scum running the countries now. just a thought, not a pro dictator statement
