Well, this is not just a bit scary. Raising his fist in a black power salute during his swearing in, the newly elected mayor of Jackson, Mississippi was true to his character as a former leader of the black supremacy group, Republic of New Afrika. The group is dedicated to transforming five of the Southern states into an independent socialist black nation. Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, born in Detroit as Edwin Finley Taliaferro, is a radical activist, and co-founder of the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement. Hes, also, being praised by the Nation of Islam, who wrote in their publication, Final Call, that the seeds of a black nation are already taking root in Mississippi.
According to WND,
Voters in Jackson, Miss., a mid-sized city in the heart of the Deep South, have picked a Democrat as their mayor. Whats different about this individual is that he is a former leader of the Republic of New Afrika, a group dedicated to creating an independent black nation out of five southern states.
Now leading the city of about 175,000 is Chokwe Lumumba who has a long history of radical activism and whose plans for the largest city in Mississippi could be called revolutionary.
A co-founder of the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, which promotes black self-determination, Lumumba was sworn in on July 1, after winning 86 percent of the vote in the general election.
He had won the Democrat nomination with 54 percent of the vote.
Despite what could be considered an overpowering victory, Jacksons business owners are extremely concerned with Lumumbas proposals for the city.
One of Lumumbas primary goals as mayor of Jackson is to create a solidarity economy in the city. According to a report published by the Belfast Telegraph, a solidarity economy is an umbrella term used to describe a wide variety of alternative economic activities, including worker-owned co-operatives, co-operative banks, peer lending, community land trusts, participatory budgeting and fair trade.
Lumumba also has earned the highest praise from the Final Call, the official publication of the Nation of Islam, which called his electoral victory one of the most important progressive political victories on a long list of important political leaders.
Further in the article, Final Call noted that: the seeds of a Black Nation have already taken root in the state where Mr. Lumumba is mayor of the capital city.
Lumumba discussed this idea of a Black Nation forming in Mississippi with Final Call and what can be done to bring it to life.
Some of (the counties) are as much as 80 percent black. So, demographically we have a solid, a non-self-governing territory. What we need to do in that area and actually what our people have begun to do, Mississippi has more black elected officials than any state in the United States and if we can now give that some political content, some direction in terms of what we want to do in terms of taking these electoral victories, these economic victories and teach the message that we know from long ago, of self-determination, of self-governance, self-economic development, Lumumba stated.
In addition, he calls this area of Mississippi the Kush District, and he raised his fist in a black power salute at the ceremony where he was sworn in as mayor.

Now that I’m recently relocated to SC to escape the Liberal Mecca of NYC, this comes as wonderful news! Just LOVELY!! :(( (thanks for the heads up in posting this article)
No worries, the US DOJ will keep an eye on them, so they don’t break any laws.
Damn, I crack me up!
just went their for a wedding.......a regular demilitarized zone with mostly closed shops downtown...........
We can let them give it a shot. All of that area will look like Detroit in 5 years.
So it begins!
If you took some road-kill and painted it black, blacks would vote for it.
Too many have been on the Democrat plantation to even suspect what they are doing, nor do they care.
It aint gonna happen.
After the Marxist in Chief gets the immigration bill passed by his “jack booted thugs” call Congress, Texas will be renamed Texaco.
Trust me.
Want to bet?
Don’t worry about coming to South Carolina, you’ll like it here. Every Southern state is different with its own culture. Here in the Palmetto State we rednecks are armed to the teeth, CCW is freely available (for a fee), and race relations are generally good.
We’re not dominated by one large liberal city (Atlanta) or by several liberal cities (North Carolina). Regional influence (Piedmont, Midlands, Lowcountry) is mostly equalized, and our conservative politics are the lament of what the few liberals who live here.
As for Lindsey Graham, he’ll be gone soon (thank goodness).
You needn't worry about South Carolina becoming part of this. We got way too many guns.
AL 26.2
MS 37.0
LA 32.0
GA 30.5
SC 27.9
Looking at the numbers, you can see why this guy decided to start in MS. I doubt he'll get much traction elsewhere. If you're wondering why FL was left out of this scheme, their percentage is 16.0.
Conspiracy guy,
I agree that this guy in Jackson won’t get very far with secessionist policies.
There’s a big govt contractor facility in the city that won’t take too kindly to any radical shenanigans.
See posts #19 by conspiracy guy and my #33.
Let’s give ‘em one state to try it in.
The only caveate - if you go there, you can’t come back.
They tried that in Detroit. They’ll be bankrupt before the end of his term.
Are there enough rich whites they can bleed dry to make this work????
Never saw anything over 40% black that was successful before, I doubt it will happen here.
Johnny cash and June Carter "Jackson" with lyrics..often appropriate..
Watch the GOP move the state capital out of Jackson...
There’s that and the rest of the state of Mississippi and rest of the Southeast
