Residents claim skunks have invaded Inwood and Washington Heights, roaming the streets surrounding Fort Tryon Park and stinking up the neighborhood.

Plenty of skunks in the Chicago area! And they ain’t shy.
In NYC, the landlord or homeowner provides the garbage cans. It’s actually a lot of suburban areas that have government-provided plastic garbage cans. And color-coordinated, too!
True. I remember some of the parks in and around London that were overrun by deer in the 60’s. Don’t know about today but I remember the foxes as well.
The simple reason is that it’s a short subway ride from Lincoln Center. Cheap, but still Manhattan.
I worked nothern Manhattan through-out the 90s. I worked in the streets, backyards, rooftops and basements. Inwood was nice, often spent lunch hours bird watching from Seaman Ave...Washington Heights was pretty clean, but dangerous...Harlem was filthy, but not as dangerous as WH.
That would not be the ‘papa’ skunk raising his kits.
And like Obama, the skunks are both black and white. From a reporter on his campaign plane, the smell is also amazingly, unexplainably similar.
I would also think that a skunk that is out during the day may also be rabid. Skunks are mostly nocturnal.
Do any FReepers have photo evidence of these alleged skunks?
I think you can find the photos on the internet, Google “liberals”.

Now why did they have to insult skunks that way?
Nah, it’s not skunks; it’s just Occupy Wall Street activists emerging from their lairs (parent’s basements) or homeless shelters. They bathe once a year — if they have to.
NYC skunks have it made. Don’t have to pay extorted taxes, sky high rent, sign up for OSkukaCare and can eat sugar galore free from Nanny Bloomberg’s decree. Why would skunks change that by voting for Democraps?
The Demorats are going to be pissed with this name calling.
Escapees from Gracie Mansion?
It’s Bloombutt and his minions.
Each evening our two Australian Shepherds and I take a 9 PM run around DuPage.
This summer is the first time We see skunks most every night!
Sometimes we stop and watch them; they are cute. The coyote we saw the other night was NOT CUTE. In fact it made me very uncomfortable, and the dogs, one wild the other crazy were also uncomfortable!
