Expecting ObamaCare's Collapse Is Living In Wonderland
Posted 09/27/2013 06:52 PM ET
Entitlements: Give Democrats as much ObamaCare rope as they want, then sit back and watch them hang themselves. This advice from some pundits is the kind of thing that will make ObamaCare permanent.
The late, great Bob Bartley, longtime editor of the Wall Street Journal, writing in 1992 in his definitive account of the Reagan prosperity, "The Seven Fat Years," issued a warning about government-controlled health care.
He called it "absolutely true that in the long term we will be unable to control government expenditure if the government keeps assuming new responsibilities."
And Bartley cautioned: "When medical insurance coverage is mandated, experience shows, there is enormous pressure for it to cover more and more services. ... If the government is going to assume or mandate universal health care, we will have to draw a line somewhere. ... If we cannot do this, medical care will grow into a limitless entitlement, defeating any attempt to hold the line on spending and taxes."

As long as people think living in huge debt is normal (and many do) they don’t care....
T E R M
L I M I T S
A peek into the monster that is 0’care.
Damaged Care, story of the HMO’s.
Available on Netflix too.
Also, in 1965 there weren't as many people over 65.
Look at social security, Medicare and Medicaid...
They have ll collapsed and they are still live and sucking down huge sums of printed money...
It's not just the RINO establishment. There are a certain number of social conservatives who see this as a chance to institute social control at some point in the future if they get the reins of the federal government. Unfortunately, they don't seem to realize that a program like this is intended to make everyone slaves to the DNC.
I think you’re making my point. These don’t care. They’re not going to sign up. Without them it collapses.
Yes, faxes, emails, phone calls, protests, and any other way we can find to fight.
They got here because they’re relentless, not smarter or even more politically astute, relentless. If we want to have a chance to save this country then we have to be relentless as well.
Giving up will never be a winning strategy for any cause. Look at your children and ask yourself if you really want to give up.
“And when Russians have to go to the hospital they take their own needles. Its that unsanitary.”
Our local medical center has a program where they sterilize and donate used “one use” items to Russia for use in their medical system.
It’s already happening. People have been travelling to Mexico for years for dental treatement and medical tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors. Rather than travelling to the Mayo Clinic, people will be flocking to state of the art clinics to the south and eastern Europe where the climate is ripe for commerce (and the corruption is straightforward). At least until the whole house of cards falls...
Socialized healthcare is not about control. Politicians don’t want to control and be responsible for anything. It is about power, political power and nothing else. “Republicans are trying to take away grandma’s aspirin,” will be the battle cry and campaign slogan for the next 100 years, which will guarantee election and re-election. It’s worked before, it is working now (on things other than aspirin), and will work in the future. Guaranteed.
The Communists in *America* consolidated their power by creating a health care system where not had previously existed.
The way it reads here.
Right on. I think your analysis is how it will happen.
I’m hoping that there will be doctors who accept decent fees for service and we go that way except for trauma care.
And, by the way, there are already great doctors and clinics in the Tijuana area, operating without all the restrictions, doing wonderful things. I’m not joking. It is up to the customer to carefully choose between highly regarded docs and all the quacks. But who can blame doctors for wanting to just practice medicine their way without having to peddle AMA Bull about cancer or nutrition (both dead wrong in approach), and especially without the insurance hoops?
The country has to go through the coming collapse first...there is no way to avoid the economic crash that is coming...
The central banks and the politicians know they are kicking the can down the road while Americans get angry over laws that in the end are nothing but distractions from the real problems.
The country is broke, the money is worthless and terrorists want to kill citizens...in shopping malls.
The country can barely run for 3 months without scamming the central bank with loans
ObamaCare is going to happen with or without a delay...
Terrorists will attack us again here in the USA...sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas...
The USA will collapse as did Detroit...
Speed up the collapse so the corner can be turned and maybe 3 generations from now things will get better...
The IRS will get the money from them...
“Fight back, dammit!!”
Exactly!!!!
The article misses the point. Obastardcare is *designed* to collapse, and take the private insurance industry with it. People will be screaming for Single Payer then.
SP is the planned Hell on Earth, all that is going on now is just the train ride there.
“Look at social security, Medicare and Medicaid...They have [a]ll collapsed and they are still live and sucking down huge sums of printed money...”
That’s kind of the core of the Republican lie, isn’t it? No entitlement program has ever “collapsed”, they’re simply fixed with more money. We’re always one tax hike away from utopia.
I’m not smart enough to see how “collapse” gets us to repeal and have yet to see a satisfactory answer to this. The longer implementation goes, the more difficult the task becomes. We’re supposed to wait until Republicans control all 3 branches of government before Republicans will fight? Sad and pathetic.
Better the next Republican candidate for president runs on waivers for all.
They take their own needles, medicines and all supplies. Friends have to bring them food. (At last that’s how it was in the late 90s. Maybe conditions have improved some since then.) Their hospitals were dirty, scary places.
Were supposed to wait until Republicans control all 3 branches of government before Republicans will fight? Sad and pathetic.
Excellent point that should be made more often.
