The book is pure history; there is no religion in it.

Considering most of what we know about Jesus, say 98% (that's a swag, but close) comes from Scripture, where does O' Reilly get his material? This reads as if we can separate the historical Jesus from His deity/divine mission. These are one in the same. Jesus broke into history to fulfill His mission, to save sinners.

Haven't read the book, I plan to do so, but O' Reilly's contention that this is all something new sounds just a tad arrogant.

I agree. I happened to see about two minutes where he stated the book was to be viewed as an historical account, not as a religious work. I’m not sure what new historical perspectives one could put into a book about Jesus that hasn’t been discussed many times over.

But O’Reilly always comes across to me as arrogant. I don’t usually watch him. Eight o’clock is my time to argue with the Catholics here. Not that I’m arrogant. ;O)
