Those who say to delay it, and believe me I want it delayed if that’s all we can have, expect us to believe that the Communist Dems will agree to delay it, therefore they won’t shut down the government.
Hello?
Hate to borrow from Hillary, but to the Communist Dems, what difference does it make? As between defund permanently or delay a year, they choose NEITHER.
In order to achieve delay, the same process would need to be followed as in order to achieve defund. And a shutdown would loom when the Communist Dems refuse to delay it.
Am I missing something?
Well, maybe I’m only missing the fact that Senate craven RINOS wouldn’t stand up for a delay, either.
AMEN!
Yes! The country is used to seeing Republicans fold.
The bigger the stink they make now, the more people will perk up and listen (and those who are listening and know what is going on will line up to support them).
Cruz on Friday appeared to confirm that he plotted with House conservativesPartisan Media Shills ping.
You are correct. There is no wall of silence to prevent like minded legislators from talking and planning.
The term to describe the development of phenomenon is leadership.
No Republican has ever failed on the massive scale as Obama. His failure to implement Obamacare is the greatest Presidential failure and display of Presidential incompetence in the history of the Republic
That is to say....... again for emphasis...... The failure to roll out Obamacare in a smoothly working manner demonstrates the Presidents total imcompetence to hold the office
Unfortunately, until Cruz and Lee and to some erratic extent, Paul and Rubio arrived, there weren’t any true movement conservatives in the Senate.
It’s one thing to vote somewhat conservatively, it’s entirely another to function as part of a movement. There are a few good ones in the Senate and to their credit they tried to help in their ways, but they were mostly elder statesmen such as Roberts, Grassley, Inhofe and Sessions. Others were somewhat back-bencher types such as Risch of Idaho, Vitter of LA etc.
There wasn’t a movement leader among them, before Cruz, Lee and a tiny handful of others got there.
Not Toomey. certainly not Ron Johnson - who even voted for cloture, and these were thought to be the more conservative members.
I take your point that some in the Senate should have been working with their House counterparts all along. I’m just saying, the personnel to DO that simply were not in the Senate.
A year’s delay would allow Congress some breathing room, or so they might think. They could attempt to “pivot”, and shove amnesty down our throats.
Would like to amend your point to this extent - obamacare is IMPOSSIBLE to effectively roll out and implement.
When something is impossible to do, then it’s a bit difficult to pin responsibility on someone for not being successful in doing it.
Government mandated, massively bureaucratic health insurance cannot work. In fact, those who pushed it mostly knew it couldn’t work and that was fine to them. They want to destroy the insurance industry. As soon as the insurance industry goes out of business, there is no one left but the government to provide health insurance.
Hello. Single payer, socialized medical insurance and medical care.
A Communist dream come true.
A nightmare for America and Americans.
By taking up for Obama you commit the common conservative mistake of being nice.
Nice people finish last
To be effective one must attack and draw as much blood as possible.
I suppose though you would rather feel good about being nice than rid the country of Obama
“Only an observation...”
And an extremely astute one at that. Thanks for posting it.
Stalwart, you can’t get a year’s delay without the Dems agreeing to it, short of a government shutdown.
And the Dems no more want a delay than they want a defund. Just talking in theory about a delay is useless, is my point. Reid opposes a delay. Obama opposes a delay. Obama will delay anything he wants to delay, unilaterally like a dictator. But that’s not the same as a legislative delay across the board that he would accept.
There’s no painless way for Republicans to stand up for a delay, any more than there’s a painless way to stand up for a defund.
GOP Leadership is anything but a leadership.
More like a conglomeration of puppets or Eunochs. Balless useless career politicians.
“If the conservatives/Cruz are thwarted by the Republican establishment such that no significant change to ObamaCare implementation (defund or delay) it is either the end of the RHINOs or the end of the party.”
I think it’s the latter and it has already happened. The Senate gop publicly murdered their own political party yesterday.
One of the links at the bottom of that page is http://thehill.com/video/in-the-news/323573-gop-rep-house-republicans-tired-of-being-abused-by-cruz which is talking about House R’s being all up in arms about Cruz pushing them to pass the CR in the House and then saying he would back down from the Senate fight. That article is confusing because it’s a week old but talks about Cruz’ plan to filibuster, yet Rep Duffy from Wisconsin was claiming that Cruz was waving the white flag and saying he wouldn’t fight in the Senate. Duffy was complaining that there were days they couldn’t get anything done because constituents were flooding the phone lines asking them to defund Obamacare.
But Cantor is in the House, and he’s the one who was talking about giving the Senate a symbolic vote to cover their tootsies in the Senate. Cruz did everything in his power to get the Senate morons to fight the battle there but they wouldn’t, and it wasn’t helped by those like Coburn and McCain, who publicly derided Cruz and said it’s their duty to roll over and die.
So I don’t know how the House is feeling about this. But the Alinsky tactic of demonizing Cruz and using jealousy and infighting to divide rather than unite the forces who need to fight together is alive and well in the media, and it sure seems like the R’s are being played for suckers because they’re making the tactic work.
We need to tell them to knock it off and engage in the real battle. We already tried telling the Senate R’s and they wouldn’t. Slime-balls. I sure hope the House R’s are made of better stock than that.
“Cruz will run out of gas when his family is threatened, don’t think it doesn’t happen.”
What makes you think it already hasn’t? Some folks just aren’t all that amenable to blackmail.
Pray for him and his family.
“This ain’t over!”
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??!!
Nothing is over until WE say it’s over!
Sidley Friends....... that is where the action will be
Uhh. ‘Cuse me, Mitch? He was agreeing with a GOP idea.
Republican Leadership Needs to Watch Braveheart
Bravehearts all.
There are just two ways an individual citizen can effect the restoration of America.
1 Refuse to pay taxes, and risk imprisonment;
2 Voluntarily reduce income to the level at which filing a tax return is not required.
Nobody is willing to do either.
