Mosques should be allowed in Iceland only when Saudi Arabia allows churches and synagogues.

I've often wondered why no one in The West takes this position. The moon god is very jealous and insecure - he cannot abide any competition. And keeps his adherents in his clutches by threat of death for leaving.

Ha, and liberalism and the cost of living aren’t the only deterrents to Islam; there is also the country’s latitude. Iceland is just below the Arctic circle, so while they don’t get the midnight sun effect, it does not get completely dark at night in June and July. During the month of Ramadan, Moslems are not supposed to eat, drink or have sex while there is enough light to tell a white thread from a black one. So when Ramadan falls during the summer, as is the case now, proper observance of that holiday will be impossible.
