Recall from history that one of the Eastern Block’s longest-serving and brutal dictators, Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu, fell from power after a single speech in front of his subjects. On December 21, 1989, President Ceausescu spoke from a balcony in Bucharest to a group of about 80,000 Romanians, during which opposition to Ceausescu’s rule galvanized. A few people in the crowd began booing and jeering, totally unheard-of during Ceausescu’s rule. The booing spread, then the crowd began chanting opposition slogans, and eventually charged the presidential building en mass.

The speech was well-prepared. They had sent in bus loads of sycophants to pack the crowd and cheer lead. But, in the end, even their helicopter pilot who was a personally trusted and vetted member of their inner circle, helped them escape to the safety of the countryside and promptly turned them over to an ad hoc tribunal who would return them to Bucharest just a few days later for a drumhead trial and an ignominious end before a firing squad.
Worse than being broke, they now OWN your very body. THEY control if you get treatment, live or die. You are a SLAVE. This nation revolted and threw off the yoke of tyranny once before for far less than this.

What you write is quite true. However, the colonists didn't have to deal with:
1) A section of the populace who has a grudge against them and who are likely heavily armed...AND are willing to kill to keep their leader in power if they wish to continue to receive government benefits
2) A variety of police forces that are openly hostile to the populace
3) A majority of the populace who have proven to everyone...TWICE...that they are dumb as a box of rocks and wouldn't lift a finger to gain their freedom from tyranny
To be honest, it looks kinda grim.
(On a side note: One of the other things that differs from back then is that the majority of today's population has turned their back on God...including most of the government. Back then, we-both the people and their leaders-implored the Lord Almighty to help us gain our freedom, and He answered. Unless there was a major move of national repentance, I doubt He would help us now.)
Your number 1 doesn’t take into account that our more heavily armed and more inspired opposition out numbers nobama’s armed freeby takers by 10, hell maybe even 100 to one even counting the few Military that would throw in with him.
