Fort Worth police said the city "avoided a major tragedy" Tuesday night when a gunman tried to fire at least five shots inside crowded McDonald's restaurant but his pistol malfunctioned.
Surveillance video released late Thursday shows Jestin Anthony Joseph, 24, pulling the trigger several times while attempting to rob customers and employees, police said.
Incredibly, the gunman walked outside and fired his gun successfully in the air, police said. He walked back inside and tried to shoot again, but the gun again malfunctioned.

Too bad there wasn’t someone there with a gun that worked, someone who could have ended the threat, for then and in the future.

When I was a kid, a man tried to kill a Mobile, AL cop. He fired his revolver six times and the gun did not fire a single time.
When the gunman was subdued they took his gun and all six primers had dents in them. The hammer spring was apparently just not quite strong enough to fire those particular rounds.
I suspect that cop got religion if he didn’t already have it.

Yep! Praise God for sparing those people.

He pulled the trigger several times, no boom, so went outside—boom;
back inside, pulled the trigger some more but still no boom.
“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. People are going to think I’m crazy.”
It was just a big misunderstanding. Give Atty General Steadman a call and you’ll own McDonalds, the raciss honkies, you poor boy.

I would hope Jestin’s mother has the good sense to put out a hit on her son and redeem the family name.

It's a good thing there wasn't an engineer in the crowd. "No, no, no, you have to put the round in battery like this...."

Looks like a semi-auto. My guess is that it was dirty, and couldn't eject the expended brass and chamber the next round. He probably had fired it sometime in the day before going into the McDonald's, didn't realize it was jammed, failed to fire it in McDonald's, went out side and pulled the slide back, thereby releasing the jam, and fired a shot into the air, which then jammed the gun again. Or it could be a miracle from God.
If I had been there, when I saw that failed trigger pull, I would have been on him in a flash.
