Boom!
Delay is not defunding but it’s better than nothing.
Now if Manchin’s constituents could get him on board with voting NO on Cloture, that would be really significant.
And if Manchin is pressured to delay or defund, dem senators can be brought on board as well.
Need only 41 Senators to vote NO on Cloture. Mike Lee says he knows of 15 confirmed. That leaves 26 to go.
Call or Fax your Senators today!!!
Bull, this was the plan all along.
File an amendment to do it now Joe.
File it today in time for the cloture vote.

“Behind closed doors in the Capitol, House Republican leaders laid out their demands for a debt-ceiling increase to the Republican rank and file.
They include a one-year delay of the presidents health care law...”
Kabuki theater indeed...
I sense a crack emerging in the “United Democratic Front Against Common Sense”
THANK YOU!
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Delay? No way!
If they can’t kill it, it’s better to have ObamaCare ASAP. That way, a lot of people will get screwed, and they will take their anger out on Obama and the Democrats next November.
If ObamaCare is delayed a year, the general public won’t get hammered until AFTER the election. It will be a win for the Democrats.
The question now is if McCain, McConnell and Cornyn will go along with even this small step. If they join Manchin, then it has a realistic chance of passage.
Absolutely wrong. The Federal parasite class will continue to implement this monstrosity no matter the so called delay.
Let everyone see this monster for what it is -- let everyone see the iron fist of government.
The left is laughing at us -- this delay is a ploy by left to fool us. Anyone with half a brain knows that Obama's intention is to have the "one year delay" to seem reasonable, all the while knowing the bureaucracy, the sycophant media and leftist organizations will continue to push for greater control over everything..
Then when the inevitable Obamacare failure occurs, Obama and the media will come back and say, see, if the Republicans didn't delay the program and put so many roadblocks in the way, it would have worked."
Then single payer will the pushed as the only way to "save" healthcare. Just in time for Hillary in 2016.
See my post #9. I think the chief scribe for the surrender monkey caucus has just relayed his bosses instructions to the mushy middle. Let’s see if McCain and McConnell get on board.
It would be a win for democrats anyway. Any bad economic news has been and will continue to be blamed on Bush and/or any republicans holding a seat in Congress (majority or not). McCain will agree with the narrative and John Boehner will not dispute the blame.
Agreed! A one year delay will also give Dems cover in the 2014 election avoiding the results of the train wreck.
Question:
Aren’t we playing into the DemRats hands by delaying full implementation until after the 2014 elections?
Many will say a delay is a surrender, but I have a parable:
A man is sentenced to be executed by a crooked King. The man convinces the King to give him a year to teach a pig how to speak, and the King agrees. A friend of the man asks, “Why would you promise such a thing?!?” The man replies, “I will probably be executed next year, but between now and then, events could intervene on my behalf. The King may have a change of heart. The pig may actually speak. The King could die. But I have zero chance of any mercy if I just go to the gallows today.”
I say it would make it worse for the Rats, because the delay would expire right before the election.
Democrats can hear the electorate more clearly than the RINOs.
Manchin is concerned about his political life. WV is turning red because of EPA and Obamacare.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he flipped parties.
Delay is the best of both worlds. We need a fearful electorate to get us a solid majority in the Senate and strengthen our hand in the House.
Suspend it, now and we’ll end it later, folks.
Vote conservative. Vote liberty.
