(CNSNews.com) - Speaking with former President Bill Clinton yesterday, President Barack Obama suggested that under Obamacare young women may get back more in “free contraceptive care” each month than they pay out in premiums.
"And because all the insurers who participate are required to, for example, provide free preventive care, free contraceptive care, that young woman, she may make up what she’s spending on premiums just on her monthly use of health care,” said Obama.
This was based on Obama's assumptions that a young woman would in fact be using some contraceptives on a regular monthly basis and that her health-insurance premiums would cost less than her monthly cell phone bill.

Setting aside the cost of contraception, women use significantly more medical services (measured in $$) than men do. If Obamacare premiums are the same for men and women, that amounts to a cross-subsidy from men to women. Perhaps, that the way things should be; but, IMHO it will result in more women than men supporting Obamacare — or, at least fewer women than men opposed.
India is supplying about 40% of US generic drugs now.

$300 a month with free contraception IS totally worth spending than $9 a month before!
I so wish that was true in my household. In the past year alone, my husband has used more in medical services than I have in the 25 years we've been together - and I've had 2 surgeries and also given birth.
I was unaware of that, as I haven’t used the pill since about 1989 or 90
Hate to point out the obvious but young women, who get "free contraceptive care," don't want to pay a DAMNED CENT for health care premiums. The are NOT going to be grateful for the tradeoff. And I doubt that those who are beyond child bearing age are going to be any more happy either!

If she is paying premiums and getting contraceptives, then, they aren’t free.
they are the only ones spawning in large numbers, conservatives have only children they want and can afford, then they take measures like getting tubes tied and vascetomies to prevent more. cheaper in the long run.
