GHWB knows that ME hates him, but he’s doing his best to win them over. This should really help with the liberals up there.
I would posit that the Bush family has done more harm to this country than Clinton. Liberals could not have destroyed conservatism in the wake of the Reagan revolution, they would have been fought and defeated. It took a Bush to take over and then work to reverse the legacy, leading to Clinton, and then it took another to make the Republicans into big spending plutocrats, leading to Obama. Leftists didn’t cause that, Bushes did. Stay out indeed.
I get that they are his friends, but as I know as Catholics/Christians we are not supposed to attend because that would be condoning a lifestyle that is immoral and is an attempt to redefine something that has already been defined by God.
Barbara Bush once criticized her son for stating something along the lines of Jesus is the only Savior(per John 14:6). Plus, they are Episcopalians so who knows what kind of theology they hold to and imbibe. Plus, a lot of nominal Christians let sentiment and emotion, not Scripture, sway their positions. I had a facebook friend who attends an LCMS church who felt the need to announce her support for marriage redefinition. I know she does not hold seriously to what her church teaches.
