The Senate this week warned lawmakers and their staff not to sign up for Obamacares health exchanges, saying that the administration hasnt yet finalized the rules for how to keep paying for their premiums.
Members and staff are advised that they should delay enrolling in health insurance plans until we are able to offer further guidance as to how they should enroll in these insurance plans for 2014, the Senate disbursing office said in an email to staffers Monday. Premature enrollment could adversely impact eligibility for the employer premium contribution.
The health exchanges are slated to open next week, and mark a key milestone for the Affordable Care Act.

Douchebag!
Premature enrollment could adversely impact eligibility for the employer premium contribution.
Meaning the taxpayers will be paying the cost for Congressional members and staff.
At least if this defund plan fails at least all of them in congress and their staffs will be taken care of with that special subsidy.
That is all that matters.
But I am sure they think of us first.
This Flustercluck is so screwed up that no one knows what is going on.
Not even the Congress.
Biggest fug up this country has ever seen.
The whole thing is a disaster.
Posted this on another thread, but it applies here ...
As the insanity draws nearer, Im hearing more and more squawking from the completely low-info types who are STUNNED that theyre going to have to ACTUALLY PAY MONEY for this thing! Were so well-informed around here at FR that we forget the massive number of people out there who simply believe everything they are spoon-fed by the mainstream media and were and are fully convinced that Obamacare simply means FREE MEDICAL CARE. The reaction of these millions of people when they find out it ISNT FREE AT ALL is going to be a thing to behold.
Music to my ears ... can't wait for 2014 ... Gonna party like it's 2010 !!!
I can’t imagine it going any other way.
Gee, I wonder where Ted Cruz stands on this issue.
If by free, it means 80/20 cost sharing once the $20,000 per year deductible for each family member is met. Then yeah.......Your $650 per month insurance premium for a family of four is that kind of free. And by the way, who is going to be able to afford monthly premiums of $650 while paying up to $80,000 out of pocket before coverage kicks in?
ps: FUJR
A whole lotta bad stuff is gonna happen in the next few years.
In the end it can only be for better.
I mean, these are people, millions of people, who truly thought this thing was going to be FREE. And now they learn it'll cost them hundreds of bucks a month? Heads will explode!
Especially with a strong, brilliant, principled senator clearly on our side/leading the way.
He’s like Captain Winters
This gets crazier by the second, but I expect nothing less from this bunch in govmint.
Reap what you sow RATS!
I forgot what article I was reading about Obummercare..think LA CommieTimes & the comments were hilarious. You’re right, these low-info people really do think it’s going to be free.
Pres Choom & gang trying their hardest to spin it but when these people start realizing what they’re going to have to cough up, priceless!
For sure, rainee! What’s REALLY funny, I think, is that neither our Politburo nor our Pravda have ANY IDEA just how many low-info people are expecting COMPLETELY FREE HEALTH CARE out of this deal. Now that our “leaders” have had to start releasing the info that, hey, THIS COSTS MONEY, the yelling and screaming by dumbed-down fools at both Politburo and Pravda is going to be intense!
Aren’t they breaking the law if they don’t sign up?
Not a law in the sense of a legal crime but a regulation.
And one freeper made the argument to me that since the SCOTUS accepted the mandate as a tax rather than a fine that its more like an legal option.
Best yet, no penalty for not paying that tax,.
