WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Senate on Wednesday took the first of several procedural votes designed to enact funding for the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1. Democrats who lead the Senate are aiming to replace a House-passed funding bill with a measure that maintains money for President Barack Obama's health law and keeps the government open until Nov. 15. The Senate's Wednesday afternoon vote was on proceeding to debate the House-passed bill.

She is up for re-election.
Cruz and company must target moderate Democrats who are feeling heat on Obamacare.
Beware of Reid's tricks - his tricks (and no treats) will probably happen before Halloween.
Harry Reid reminds me of Warren Jeffs.
Cornie was just on Hannity sounding like mclame.
Elistist washington it’s all about me club, only caring about himself.
Shame shame on you john mccain, I mean cornyn. We will remember what you chose to do.
So that puts it at 65 already. So much for a filibuster.
“Cornie was just on Hannity sounding like mclame.”
Very disingenuous with his last statement: “We can’t fund the government.”
They can DEMAND a certain standard to how it’s funded. Duh!
Shut it down , ground Air Force 1 and let the kenyan pay for his own staff out of his own pocket
DeathCair is not health care
Really. Afraid he’s going to miss a paycheck to add to his millions. pffffttt
And Cornyn just outright admitted on Hannity that he thinks it is more important to allow cloture and allow Dems to pass it, because he thinks it is better politically for the Repubs. I knew it was what he was thinking but astonished that he came out and admitted it.
Politics is more important than saving our country from this fiasco leading to government controlled socialized medicine.
Thank you very little, Senator “Neville” Vichy Cornyn.
He may find that not only do the Repubs lose the Obamacare battle, they also lose politically.
Looks like cover for some of the pubs who aren’t on the list.
Duck and cover. An old political game.
senator Blunt is going to vote YES on defunding!! GOOD NEWS
well in my zealousness I forgot to ask about the cloture vote. THAT I understand is the most important one....
<....”because he thinks it is better politically for the Repubs”....>
Sounds like a party man to me and not a we the people man.
They’re all acting like they’re acting under a Nazi ruler...afraid to stick their necks out...my gosh how transparent can you get before people wake up!
The cloture vote may get 25 but ill be surprised if any more and expect less. Even Rand Paul has said they will not shut it down over this. The fight has been decided. Obamacare is fully implemented in a week.
They threw us under the bus yet again!.....there never was a fight aside from last night...Cruz tried to bring it on home and the GOP would have nothing to do with it....
The party is long gone ...but then we knew when McCain handed it all over to Obama we were pretty much done then...it takes more than Cruz to rip out the deep roots these politicians have and believe they are entitiled, but there is a glimmer of hope that maybe one day ahead... “one man plus God equals an Army”.....but that fight will be to the death of any freedom we ever thought we might have left.
I second that! What utter disasters these two faux conservative *Tea Party Carpetbaggers* these two have turned out to be. Tooouiee!
He's a slippery weasel who I cannot wait to help his opponent. I told his Houston office I'd vote for a Dim before I EVER vote for him, again...Same Diff.
Praying there's a good, conservative opponent.
