U.S. officials for the first time disclosed insurance prices that will be offered through new federally run health-care exchanges starting Oct. 1, showing that young, healthy buyers likely will pay more than they do currently while older, sicker consumers should get a break.
The plans, offered under the health-care overhaul to people who don't get insurance through an employer or government program, in many cases provide broader coverage than current policies.
Costs will vary widely from state to state and for different types of consumers. Government subsidies will cut costs for some lower-income consumers.
Across the country, the average premium for a 27-year-old nonsmoker, regardless of gender, will start at $163 a month for the lowest-cost "bronze" plan; $203 for the "silver" plan, which provides more benefits than bronze; and $240 for the more-comprehensive "gold" plan.
But for some buyers, prices will rise from today's less-comprehensive policies. In Nashville, Tenn., a 27-year-old male nonsmoker could pay as little as $41 a month now for a bare-bones policy, but would pay $114 a month for the lowest-cost bronze option in the new federal health exchanges.
Likewise, the least-expensive bronze policy would rise to $195 a month in Philadelphia for that same 27-year-old, from $73 today. In Cheyenne, Wyo., the lowest-cost option would be $271 a month, up from $82 today.

Obama: "Premiums Will Decrease 3000% So You Should Get A Raise When Healthcare Is Passed"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3019102/posts
If rats really wanted all yutes to sign up for “health care” ,why didn’t they make the fines for not doing so close to or the same as what the plan would cost?
Whatever with the premiums...has anyone even considered what a disaster the deductibles and copays are??
“If you buy a bronze plan — the cheapest available for anyone 30 and older — youll have a $3,250 deductible for individual coverage; its $6,500 for family coverage. Once you spend that much on medical care, including medication, youll still have to pay 40 percent of the cost for many services, including visits to specialists, outpatient hospital services, emergency room visits and lab work.
Youll also have to pay 40 percent of the cost of non-generic drugs. But each customers out-of-pocket costs will be capped at $6,250, or $12,500 for a family plan.
Silver plans have similar deductibles to the bronze ones — $3,000 for medical services, plus $400 for prescription drugs; both of those figures are doubled for family plans.”
This is a complete disaster. Does anyone think ANYONE has the first $3250 to cough up, on top of the premiums? If your kid gets pink eye, that entire bill is yours. Some pink eye meds are over $100. And then of course, you get it, and you have to throw out the makeup. Forget about oral antibiotics. If your bug is resistant to amoxicillin or penicillin, you better have a few hundred cash available. Or I guess room on the credit card, if you go that way.
The only positive is that people will shop around for better prices, since its their money. Everyone should print out the list of $4 generics at Walmart and bring it to their first appointment, to be kept alongside the running commentary on sexual and gun preferences.
Lord Have Mercy! The unintended consequences are endless. Why would any drug company invest in any new drug research? There is zero point, because the number of people who can pay out of pocket for such a thing is too small to justify. Why would any retail pharmacy stock anything expensive, since its only gonna go out of date. Even if you have fabulous coverage, no one else does. You might be able to get it ordered, maybe not.
And lol at Medicaid... Everyone will try to get on that by making just a little less than they do now, and that will go broke soon enough. I can only imagine how the state HMO’s are positioning themselves right now (like in Virginia, we have Virginia Premier and its lesser sister plans.)
I wonder how Mr. Obama will enjoy reading about his legacy. He’s young enough to watch it unfold.
What’s going to be darkly hilarious over the next couple of weeks are the shrieks of the low-information dullards who thought Obamacare was going to be FREE!
Idiots.

and Medicaid will strip you of your assets.
This is a war against the citizens.
I have no doubt that there is a Government run website out there trying to explain the “Gold, Silver and Bronze” plans.
Something like this:
“Gold is better than silver and silver is better than bronze”
“Rappers wear Gold chains for a reason”
“While they sometimes wear silver chains, they would never wear a bronze chain”
“But bronze may be good for you”
MAKE DC LISTEN: TELL YOUR SENATORS TO OPPOSE CLOTURE ON H.J. RES 59
We must oppose cloture on H.J. Res 59, so that Harry Reid and Senate Democrats cannot sneak in funding for Obamacare. We need you to call your Senators right now: tell them to oppose cloture on H.J. Res 59 and remind them that a vote for cloture IS a for funding Obamacare.

“And they will blame the greedy doctors...”
You got it in one. That is what is coming next.
Eventually, we will have a system where the Health Care b’crat on the local Death panel bases your chances of getting a kidney, or a heart, on your amount of Democrat Political Patronage.
Remember folks, we aren’t dealing with “Democrats” anymore, but radical Academic Socialists.
I watched Ted Cruz during his valiant effort to halt the disaster called Obamacare. I hope you watched it as well. If he has used it once, he used the phrase “...we no longer listen to the people, our constituents...” over a hundred times. And he was right...they don’t. And the fact is, THEY NO LONGER NEED TO.
I’ve sent my little rant on this topic before but Ted’s honest comment compels me to do so again.

*************
WHY THE POLITICAL RULING CLASS NO LONGER LISTENS TO US!
Among others, Thomas Jefferson warned that the financial disaster we now face would be but one of many problems paper money would visit upon us if we allowed our leaders to remove the backing from the currency, to wit:
When the servants if the people are paid with something other than that which the people themselves have produced (i.e. the real, tangible products of their labors or some fixed and real medium of that exchange), the roles of master and servant will be reversed.
It was believed by Roger Sherman and a majority of those at the Constitutional Convention that un-backed currency would so damage the fabric of the nation that they ATTEMPTED to prohibit it with these few words at Article 1, Section 10, requiring the states to enforce the prohibition: No State shall make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts;
If the people and their states grew inattentive to this matter (and they have!), Jefferson also saw this problem ahead:
In a letter to John Taylor in 1816, he wrote, “And I sincerely believe, with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”
We have been swindling futurity for a long time and this is now where we find ourselves. If the government, through its banker masters at the Federal Reserve, can create money from thin air, they certainly dont need ours every April 15th. That annual sheep shearing is simply an attempt to vacuum enough of the excess paper from the system to keep the rest of us from catching on to the biggest theft ring in the history of man. They have now created so much that their attempt is failing and failing badly to a point where all but the dullest among us (Obama voters and his growing cadres of personal and corporate welfare beneficiaries) are starting to get it.
If you understood that last paragraph, you can now make the small leap to an understanding as to why the progressive utopian welfare state hacks in Washington dont give a damn WHAT you think. Their power to create all the money they need to fuel their infernal machine and fill the gaping maws of enough of those hoards of welfare constituents to assure their perpetual re-election means that — ready — THEY NO LONGER NEED YOU! They have become, as Mr. Jefferson predicted, our MASTERS.
That they are taking down a nation and a system that has provided more wealth, safety and abundance to more people than any other in history matters not to them. Failing to grasp the lesson of the French Revolution, they believe themselves to be above the impending disaster.
Were running out of time to get this increasingly rapacious beast back into the cage from which we have carelessly allowed it to escape.
I wonder how many 911 calls would be handled by IVR?

Buenas noches, compadre!
It’s no wonder that they put a tax on medical equipment makers.
Equipment that helps doctors SAVE LIVES.
0bamacare is the tool for the party of death.
They can finally achieve their goal of reducing the population in order to save the planet.
When this train-wreck is up and running I have no doubt that we will being to see those “academics” supporting euthanasia, quality of life and the so-called “Burden on family and society”.
They will attempt to convince the elderly to forgo treatment and get pumped full of pain killers so they won’t be a burden on others.
It’s pure evil.
As I recall, there was a debate among the dems on the floor at the time, saying it wasn’t fair to levy heavy penalties, it was exorbitant, etc., etc.
You could show the mule the water, but you couldn’t hit him with the 2x4.
For our family our total monthly payment would go from $2174 under our current coverage to $6112 under Obamacare.
Holy crap!!!
All the stories I've seen touting lower rates—including one this morning in the Washington Post—fail to mention co-pays or deductibles. If a plan has a $3,000 deductible and a 40 percent co-pay then it won't be utilized by the average policy holder.
Fortunately there are more privately owned firearms in the U.S. than people.
One plus, I won't have to see the Jaguar parked sideways taking up three parking spaces with the vanity plate "MomDoc" anymore.
And you are right, I never use it.
I just do not understand how the SCOTUS got this SO wrong!
___________________________________________________________
Nor do I.
I will tell you one thing. I will not pay this tax. I am a healthy 50 yo that hasn’t been to a doctor in well over 25 years. I don’t have insurance and will pay for whatever services I may end up needing. The last time I went to the hospital was to get some glass removed from my scalp as the result of a fight I got into with some thug that thought he could get away with stealing stuff from where I worked.
I posted this on a different thread not long ago:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3067927/posts?page=7#7
This train wreck is a slow motion event.
I dont think it will be stopped.
When thousands of people that never realized they have been forced into paying for something that they dont need or want, we may get one person that gets the right lawyer that finds the right judge in the right jurisdiction that advances a case back to the supreme court.
____________________________________________________________
As a “tax” it should get shot down.
As Zerocare begins to encounter any number of real world scenarios, it should quickly be determined that it is hopelessly unmanageable.
If I was a healthy young, single non-smoker from Kansas last year, and the next year I got married, moved to NY, started smoking got divorced in Vegas, quit smoking all within that year. Can they price that out for me ?
Harmful behavior that is excluded from this tax are endless.
Are those that engage in demonstrably harmful sexual activities going to pay more ?
What if I eat a dozen Twinkies a day, but only smoke when I’m drunk.
Get more than one speeding ticket ?
Run with scissors ?
Play sports ?
Own a Gun ?
Have a bathroom ?
All of these activities are supposedly priced in, as they have been priced in by insurance actuaries for years.
What do you think will happen when the Government attempts this ?
Are they going to ask, on your tax return, if you are in a gang ?
I think this entire ill-conceived adventure expected private, corporate subsidized health plans to remain unchanged.
This is and will bring a new meaning to “FUBAR”
