Russian Navy to Get New Missile Systems Next Year
MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) – The Russian navy will receive new advanced surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems next year, a defense industry executive said Monday.
Shtil vertical-launch modular air-defense systems are designed for a series of six Project 11356 frigates now under construction, and can effectively engage any existing and future combat aircraft, Maxim Kuzyuk, general director of the Aviatsionnoye Oborudovaniye (Aircraft Equipment) holding, told RIA Novosti. One of the system’s principal features is its high firing rate: It fires missiles every two seconds, he said, adding that each module consists of 12 missiles.
“We are planning to deliver six Shtil SAM complexes for [Project 11356] ships before 2016,” Kuzyuk said.

Protect us from what? The Russian people laugh at the old communists the way we do at the klan. They put their nation before the world government, they support Christianity, oil and gas drilling, a flat tax, a gold backed trade currency, protecting children from homosexual recruiting in the schools, and their women aren’t mean feminists.
I think we might have turned into the bad guys lately anyway.

The Russian state has always prohibited homosexuality, even during Soviet times. In fact, you could be sent away to Siberia if you were homosexual during the USSR.
OK, maybe a capable missile, but what about the fire control for all those birds in the air? Got to get them to the target, or at least close enough for their own guidance to take over.

Quite an odd type of communist there. Busily rebuilding the Churches destroyed in the Soviet era, warning us not to go down the socialist past they experienced and suffered through, likes a flat tax, likes a gold currency so people can’t pay in a fiat currency and inflate it away until its worthless, likes selling oil and gas and being rich, encourages the traditional family, and making “The Gulag Archipeligo” required reading for school kids.
That’s some deep cover operation there. Putin is indeed a strongman, he is not a friend of American interests, and he is a hard nationalist, but it’s laughable to describe him as a communist. What he is is a very tough competitor who will always push for his own interests, and will only be friendly to ours when they coincide with his. And the fact that we are pro-sunni, pro al qeida, and working to undermine his country through cultural rot and pro EU economics means we have fallen into conflict.
Could all of that be done by satellite systems? And they have good SAM systems, but I do doubt their ships have the sheer command and control systems ours have.
How fast the world can catch up electronically is the 64,000 dollar question I guess.

I’m not sure if it is any related to a topic but prior to WWII sodomy was outlawed in most civilized nations.
Soviets actually pioneered in both legalizing and celebrating homosexuality along with an abortion and other deviances, brought it into their media and arts in 1920s but it was for a very brief period of time until earlier 1930s.
I’m sorry, but Putin has not been doing things in America’s interests. He helped Saddam in Iraq before we invaded. He helps Iran with its nuclear program.
