Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus backed Sen. Ted Cruzs anti-Obamacare quasi-filibuster Tuesday, possibly sending a message to senior GOP leaders who are criticizing Cruzs tactics in defunding Obamacare.
Cruz is speaking against Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reids plans to hold a vote on a stopgap continuing budget resolution Wednesday, where Reid is expected to strip out language from the House version of the budget resolution that defunds Obamacare. Cruz doesnt want the vote to happen until Obamacare is definitively defunded without Reids expected changes.
In a fight between Harry Reid and Ted Cruz, I will stand with Ted Cruz any day, Priebus wrote in an email Tuesday headlined I stand with Ted. Today, Senator Cruz has taken the fight to defund ObamaCare to the Senate floor. I hope you will join me in standing with him in solidarity.
As Republicans, Priebus continued, we must remain true to our principles and fight to protect the American people from this reckless law.
Priebus endorsement of Cruz is especially notable, considering that Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he does not support Cruzs attempt to block a vote on the House bill, which Cruz is pushing for because of Reids expected changes to it. Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Lindsey Graham have also come out in opposition to Cruzs effort to block a vote on the bill.

You said it! I agree.
I have sent the RNC message every damn day, chastising them for their cowardly tactics. Siting that I will NEVER give another dime to the RNC with the way things are run now.
My emails have been harsh, but at this point, I truly just do not care. I’m sick of all of this spinning out of control and our side doing dick sh**
In two weeks Ole France will be handing out funds to Graham, McConnell for reelection.
He’s a flim flam pee wee Herman
If they don’t vote with Cruz and Lee they ARE the enemy. Enough of the squishy moderates. You can’t win a war with the enemy in your own foxhole!
follow the money....
Notice how he qualified it: a choice between Harry Reid and Ted Cruz? Now if it comes down between Cruz and McConnell or Cruz and McCain then where will Priebus be?
Funny you say that because, though I am a long way from Kentucky, I dropped a letter in the mail to Mitch just today telling him that his latest action was despicable and his constituents, consisting of We the People, were going to fire him. I sent a nearly identical letter to my senator, Cornyn, notifying him that he’ll never get another vote from me and that I intend to spread the word.
Yes, that’s one possible reason. But frankly I wouldn’t give 2 cents to the RNC, and I doubt whether any other conservatives will, either, after their decades-long history of betrayals.
I could just spit, I’m so disgusted with that little freaky rat. And btw, who the heck names their kid reince??!! He is weak and pathetic.
Good move Preibus, maybe finding a set as you realize what this will do to the Party and fundraising? Whatever it takes, know that we are unhappy, really unhappy.

Whoop-dee-do!
An email endorsement!
WOW!
What a Party Leader!
How did Reincey-Boy slip this on past Karl Rove?
The elected Old-Style Republicans must be shaking in their boots, well at least shaking from laughter - - - .

Dems gotta be loving this. Mitch takes millions of influence money and uses it to smear and beat Bevin. Real Americans in KY refuse to vote for him in the general and we get a Mitch McConnell twin with a (D) after her name.
Tough. If I’m gonna get screwed, it’s gonna happen when I’m fighting for myself, not when I’m bending over for the “lessor of two evils”.
I hear ya. You’ve probably got it exactly right. I sure hope the good citizens of the state know better, but I wouldn’t count on it these days.
Money talks. 10-1 this weeks solicitation was a goose egg and callers got hammered with correct message.
He’s a little late.
Exactly.
When they called me for money I told them exactly why not and didn’t sound to me like the guy on the other end was surprised.
Well done!
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
Thanks mandaladon.
He backed Cruz against Reid.....and didn’t mention McConnell or Cornyn.
Smart, though I’m sure difficult, decision he made.
And, he’s splitting hairs.
