You need to study your history! The Senate is supposed to represent the state. Therefore, the state legislatures selected the Senators.

As part of bringing the country into socialism, that bastard Wilson pushed through the 17th Ammendment that made the Senate elected by the individual sheeple, rather than state legislatures. That cut even more power away from the states, furthering Lincoln's agenda.

Right now, states have seriously lost their influence in DC.

No Duke, I’ve discussed this issue 10000 times, I know history. You need to get in touch with the present.

Most state legislators are RINOs and rats just like most in Congress are, they aren’t mystical tea party small government lovers.

Wilson didn’t “push it through.” The corruption and statism of the Senate was responsible for the 17th. It had become a joke and a caricature of itself. And BTW, these state legislatures ratified it because the people demanded (rightfully so) accountability in its Senators.
