This is all part of the communist plan: Force companies and individuals from doing business together for one reason or another then let the fed be the only viable option.

Why in the world is the first question income? We now have health care based on income from government and the lawyers are going to love this disaster.

It gives me the costs — I just ran a family through and got $644.

So they can compute the subsidy.

OK, I did it again with a made-up “family”

Doctors, nurses, assistants, receptionists.. All will be government employees, and unionized.

My grand nephew saw this all coming years ago and decided to not be a physician since he didn't want to work for the government. He turned his attention to engineering, instead. After graduating with highest honors for his bachelor of science degree in materials engineering, he did the same for the masters and is now pursuing a PhD in the subject.

I'll bet that other high IQ people have also decided against being an MD.

My daughter used to work in medical profession as well, after Obamacare passed she paused, then over the past year she actually became frightened for her family's future. She is no longer in medicine, and although happy, she continues to this day to “get the chills” when she thinks about what's coming.

It is truly a shame, isn’t it? But if that’s what the majority wants, well, they’re going to get it in spades. Unfortunately, your daughter and my nephew were deeply affected. Innocent bystanders, I suppose.

I console myself by reflecting upon being old and from a family of short longevity.

In Wisconsin, it’s all “Walker’s fault”.

One of my friends sells pharma to doctors. He has told me that the doctors graduating in the last few years are not as bright as the doctors that preceded them.

You console youself by reflecting upon being old and from a family of short longevity.

I console myself by the fact that my handsome, loving, and WONDERFUL husband, is sadly, and in this one case, thankfully, not here to see this happening to our country, our families, and our future!

the new plan is income based as opposed to your family history it seems.

Yes, that is true for plans offered through the exchanges. Your medical history is not taken into account in any way.

For private plans outside of the exchange, I have no idea. I've paid no attention to them as they are far outside of my affordability range.
