Sticks and stones may break bones, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid just hopes his words are enough to get Republicans to back off Obamacare.
“We’re not going to bow to Tea Party anarchists who deny the mere fact that Obamacare is the law,” Reid said this morning.
That was just the start of it, though.
Reid used words like "fanatic" and "extremist" to describe Republicans threatening to hold up a budget until Congress votes to defund Obamacare and its exchanges, which open for enrollment in eight days.
“Are Republicans so intent on undermining President Obama and the signature health care law that they’re willing to inflict severe damage to our economy in the process?” Reid asked. “If Democrats don’t bow to every demand they have, we’re going to go right over the cliff...Americans will know exactly who to blame — Republican fanatics in the House and Senate.”
Reid was not directing his words at the entire GOP. He was more interested in pulling Republicans away from the Obamacare cliff by turning its members against each other.
“I see more of my moderate Republican colleagues stepping up to speak sense to an extremist element of their own party,” Reid said. “A few reasonable Republicans are wise enough to know that risking the nation’s economic recovery for the sake of a pyrrhic ideological victory would be another step toward a death knell for the Republican Party.”
“I say to the House and Senate Republicans who continue to deny reality...listen to the chorus all around you. Listen to what they’re saying,” Reid said. “Your conservative Senate colleagues urge you off this reckless course...What remains to be seen is whether my Republican colleagues on both sides of the capitol are wise enough to listen.”

Obamacare itself is being “waivered” as if it itself isn’t even the law, and by this administration!
Apparently Reid forgot that just because something used to be a law does not mean it stays that way. Congress makes laws, modifies laws, funds laws and obliterates prior laws. and it has made a few changes in laws since the first Congress met. Just because something is the law today does not mean it is a funded law tomorrow. Obamacare can become as robust as the .....say the border fence. Congress’ job is to obliterate putrifying laws and this one really stinks.
If Reid wants to cling to old laws let him bring back prohibition.

It took the theft of two Senate seats (by selection, not election; they change the rules in Dead Red Ted Kennedy’s case and Al Franken ginned up the votes through naked fraud and judicial conspiracy) AND the purchasing of several more votes (with kickbacks) to get Obamacare passed by the Democrat Party;
It was a sham and a con. And it has been mucked with enough that they aren’t even holding to the LAW they passed (actually a tax).
If it were again to be challenged in the courts it would fail.
I see a people who have dentures joke in that.
So, Senator Reid, the people have spoken through their elected representatives and they have passed a bill completely funding the entire federal government, except some stupid unwanted, unneeded, bankrupting, jobs-killing, economy-wrecking new government boondoggle that's not even in effect yet and one that will hurt absolutely no one if not implemented and you and Obama are going to threaten to shutdown the entire government? Throwing hundreds of thousands of good, loyal, hard working government union workers out of their secure comfy jobs? And causing much duress, hardship and strife on the entire America people?

Yes we could but the GOP is completely unwilling to engage in even a tiny bit of populism. This tawdry name calling should be shoved right back at the rampaging Dems but the GOP DOES NOT CARE. It is all showbiz to the beltway GOP when their Dem drinking buddies do this. I have given up worrying about it when the Dems wallow in their sewage.
Unbelievably, given this trash from Reid, McAuliff is running an ad in VA attacking Cuccinelli for “disrespecting” the kenyan!
