He understands it, he just doesn’t think now is the time to fight it. I have the greatest respect for Dr. Sowell, but I disagree with him on this one. We must fight this bill very hard. I agree that Obama will simply veto the bill even if it passes the Senate. But if we show we’re giving in meekly, this monstrosity will be permanent.
Mistake or not, once the Republicans took this stand, it is suicide to abandon it. It would empower the Democrats beyond measure for Republicans to crumble on this.
The reaction of the Dems is very telling and leads me to believe that this is the right course for Republicans to take. The Dems are absolutely RABID about this vote. And it’s because they know they are vulnerable, and that Republican have found their Achilles heel.
Wouldn't that still leave ObamaCare unfunded? Without a bill, explicit funding will note be allocated to ObamaCare.
Just asking, not looking to stir up an argument. The thought just occurred to me; I'm a little slow on the uptake.
But if we show were giving in meekly, this monstrosity will be permanent.
******
And giving in meekly will invite even more power grabs by Obama and the ruling elites. Weakness in the face of aggression ALWAYS invites more aggressive behavior.
Republican caving that has gone on for decades has brought us to this sad point in our history. The Founding Fathers would ba ashamed of our timidity and weakness.
