Some parents at Leeds Elementary Public School in Alabama were in for a shock when their kids brought home a permission slip for corporal punishment.
It stated that failure to return the form would be considered authorization for school personnel to administer the punishment.
Corporal punishment is legal in 19 states in America.

Do you believe a family can opt for school vouchers and take their tax money out of the government indoctrination system?
Where and when were you in school where kids were beaten....not spanked or ruler on palm ala nuns.....for not having homework done?
I went to school deep south in 60s and never saw or heard of such a thing
Never saw a child BEATEN.....not once.
And I was a bad kid.....spanked once last day of 6th grade paddle
Once 7th grads ....paddle...for fighting
Once 8th grade paddle for making a PMS young teacher cry
9th grade for skipping class.....frat paddle....that left marks
4 times in 9 years....and I was full of mischief
You haven’t appropriated Dickens for yourself have you?
“Do you believe a family can opt for school vouchers and take their tax money out of the government indoctrination system?”
Not sure about the legality of that. My oldest daughter graduated from a charter high school.
We didn’t need a voucher the school operated the same as a magnet school only the student body was about 75 for all grades 9-12.
I support charter schools. But again we didn’t need a voucher so I have no idea how those work.
Flip your shiz?
Geezuss
Ghetto slang ala free republic
And anti spanking?
Great
New conservatism....God help us
Nice.
Do you believe you have a right to direct your taxes for education based on your decision?
“Do you believe you have a right to direct your taxes for education based on your decision?”
Yes. Provided it’s a legit school. You know not some cut rate glorified babysitting center.
I can’t complain, we had good luck with public schools too.
Of course we were involved with our kids and scholl is like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.
I’ve wondered how vouchers would work in sparsley populated districts like in west Texas.
Do you know your school board in such a rural area?
While you’re at it, get rid of all law enforcement and the judicial system. /s
I’m not anti-spanking, as long as its the parents doing it
“Do you know your school board in such a rural area?”
I’m not in a rural area.
I grew up in a small rural district but I live in central Texas now and have for 30 years.
Concur.
The response by the school if not allowed to enforce their authority are the asinine zero tolerance policies.
Two kids found in a fight where one is defending themselves from a bully and they both get suspended. Ergo, the kids a forced into joining gangs out of self defense.
Spare the rod, Spoil the child.
Oh I see, you are worried about vouchers in districts you have no part of.
Thanks Ms Cravitz.
So when the child is not under the direct supervision of the parent, he is no longer accountable to authority?
I differ. The parent has a responsibility to ensure their children are properly supervised at all times. Especially when away from home a large part of the day, under the care of other adults.
My folks would first meet the teachers and gave them a paddle to use if I didn’t behave. My dad taught me how to shape lumber by carving a wooden paddle in the workshop, which we hung up in the pantry and whenever discipline was administered, we first had to retrieve the paddle.
Worked pretty well and I never had to be disciplined in school for disobedience.
Many problems in schools today, may be solved by applying the Board of Education to the Seat of Knowledge.
“Oh I see, you are worried about vouchers in districts you have no part of.
Thanks Ms Cravitz.”
Lol I must have misunderstood your question, or you misunderstood my answer.
I support vouchers for legit schools. I don’t know how that would work in a sparsley populated district where there isn’t a legit alternative.
And I don’t think I said I was worried about anything. I said I don’t know how it would work in low population districts.
Fair enough. I believe the rural areas should have a voice in the texts provided.
The higher populated areas should be allowed to have children educated according to their own tax burden.
I am not a fan of the New World Order.
Schools are not like they were in the old days.
The parent has a responsibility to ensure their children are properly supervised at all times
So, they don't have to send their kids to public school?
Yes, we should force them to submit on their knee's and in some classes do fallatio on those in authority I guess. The teachers are never wrong, even if they are perverts I guess.
ALL HAIL MIGHTY AUTHORITY! INFALLIBLE AUTHORITY!!
Believe it or not, some people don't trust almighty "authority".
Government officials do not count as "other adults" and most people have no choice but to use public school they did not simply "leave them under the care" of that infallible "AUTHORITY", they had no choice.
Forget parents, we now have almighty AUTHORITY in charge who can whip your kids without your permission for whatever reason without trial or evidence.
BRING ON THE DEATH PENALTY for those who opt out of sex-ed while we are at it. You want to write an essay about Jesus? Stomp that face! Is that an NRA t-shirt? Necklacing time! What do you mean it is none of our business if your family has a gun in the house? We have work camps for non-compliant brats like you!
Even if your position were to deny other parties of their right to self defense?
“Fair enough. I believe the rural areas should have a voice in the texts provided.
The higher populated areas should be allowed to have children educated according to their own tax burden.
I am not a fan of the New World Order.”
I’m not sure what you mean about the text.
And like I said we had a really good charter school but didn’t need a voucher as it was already paid for just like any other public school.
The NWO pulls us down to the level on the lowest member.
Thank you.
