House Republicans passed their stopgap funding bill Friday to keep government open while terminating the new health care law, setting up a final showdown next week with Senate Democrats and President Obama who have firmly rejected that.
The 230-189 vote, which split almost exclusively along party lines, is the precursor to the big action next week, when the Senate is expected to strip out the health care provisions and send the bill back to the House — where Republicans will have to decide whether they can accept it at that point.
All sides are racing a Sept. 30 deadline, which is when current government funding runs out. The new measure would fund the government through Dec. 15, essentially at last year’s levels, and would leave the budget sequesters in place.

I read somewhere that the top union thug didn’t look happy after talks, so likely The ZERO told the AFL-CIO to wait out the funding vote - then the union will get it’s waiver.

I agree this is for show only so the RepublUnots can come back to us and tell us they voted against Zero care. It’s time for a real change. Why only until December 15th? Do we really want to go through this every 2 months?
Or are they thinking that at some point they will actually do their job and pass the regular spending bills......
That would be funny.
If they passed the bill in the senate as-is, and Obama signed it, he could easily just keep spending the money. By the time anybody could even start the process of using the courts to stop him, December 15th would roll around, and the entire thing would be moot. No court would rule that anybody had to give any money back.

He’s a fair to good conservative vote usually and is in a mildly Republican leaning district.
Rigell’s vote wasn’t needed so ( I believe) he voted against it because he is against using continuing resolutions- instead of budgets.
Doubt if he will risk a shutdown though as he is in a military district so it all may be Kabuki.
