Russian President Vladimir Putin rallied behind his old friend Silvio Berlusconi on Thursday, saying the former Italian prime minister would not have faced trial for having sex with a minor if he were gay.
Berlusconi is being tried because he lives with women. If he were homosexual, no one would lift a finger against him, he told a gathering of journalists and Russia experts.

On this point Vlad is correct.
And...Putin correct again...much to the chagrin of the Communist Globalists
More strong Russian medicine —the TRUTH.
I lived in SanFran and at the “Up Your Alley” festival there are gays peeing on and fellating one another in public, to applause.
And that’s WITH SFPD looking on.
Sorry, but he’s RIGHT.
There are two sets of standards.
President Putin is absolutely correct. It’s all about political correctness. For example, Jerry Sandusky got away with pedophile rape for as long as he did because he’s a homosexual and he was on Penn State University President Spanier’s “most gay friendly campus in the nation”. Had Sandusky molested little girls he would have been fried a decade ago.
“Had Sandusky molested little girls he would have been fried a decade ago.”
How damn true is THAT??
Paterno would have preserved his legacy if he had that reaction when he first caught wind of Sandusky.
I'm sure she knows how to help him with unique positions on the issues of the day.
Damn you, Putin. Everytime I try to hate you, you say something to make me respect you more than my own president.
Once again, Putin knocks it out of the park.
The phrase “American exceptionalism “ is most commonly now used to tell conservatives to close their eyes and go back to sleep, everything is alright.
American exceptionalism” meant something when Reagan said it and even then we had slid far but nothing like the slide we’ve experienced in the years since. The last 5 years have been a precipitous drop.
I didn’t - and wouldn’t - call Putin “a standard bearer of high morals.” I see this as less about high morals and more about preserving one’s country.
Yes, that’s the way I saw it. Ever since Reagan, the left and the elites of both parties have been intentionally destroying everything that Reagan meant by that. Not only is it gone, but even the road back is destroyed. The generation growing up now doesn’t believe such a thing ever existed, for the most part.
Putin is having a grand old time tweaking the West. You know he’s enjoying this kind of thing.
Heck, I’m enjoying Putin tweaking the West. Or at least the left half of it! :)
Seriously, he’s made a few interesting observations. I even agree (sort of) about his point on American exceptionalism. As long as we’ve got an overbearing, controlling government, Americans cannot be exceptional.

I don’t especially think anyone around here is attributing exceptionally high moral standards to Putin. But there is little question he is very canny, and about 50 times as smart as the doofus we got running this place. As I said earlier, I think he’s getting some entertainment value out of tweaking the US’/the West’s nose. I don’t really begrudge him; with the 0bama/Syria affair, he could be laughing his rear end off for months the amateur way our government bungled the thing.
Americans are exceptional when they are free to be exceptional, our government cannot make us exceptional
Understood. :-)
We seem to want to identify the “good guys” and the “bad guys” in every conflict, when often there are only “bad guys” and “worse guys”. (For instance, muslims vs. fags.) Perhaps that’s because it’s easier to pick a side than it is to stand alone and condemn both.
