I took the same stand for my belief that liberdopians take for theirs. Someone who wants to shrink government 97% is not good enough for a consensus? The answer from liberdopians is no.
Are liberdopians willing to surrender their ridiculous social issue stances in order to get it done? Nope.
They are and have shown themselves perfectly willing to surrender on economics to get the immoral and perverted social issues done by allying with leftist Democrats to legalize drugs, welcome illegals, legalize gay marriage, and recently put foreigners on juries.
One thing I have noticed about social conservatives is that they are fine with big government and big spending as long as gov is enforcing their views and spending on stuff they like. That drives Constitutional conservatives like me nuts!
No they didn't, they have a party position of zero restrictions on abortion, if you support the party politically or in public speech, then you are advancing that position.

Bush was no conservative, but what is undeniable, is that libertarianism is a straight shot to literally breeding voters for the democrats.
Look at how social liberals vote, versus social conservatives.

Losing social conservatives isn’t going to win them any elections. Leftists are not going to decide to vote for the new liberal GOPe over the Democrats if the GOPe isn’t also promising free stuff.
If you support a smaller government, they are natural allies.
But calling them names, especially inaccurate ones ( liberaltarian, socialist, liberaldopians) isn’t going to work. GeronL for example is beyond hope.
However, the GOP has to give this 10% of the electorate something to vote FOR, and continuing to grow the government, worrying about steroids in baseball and Internet gambling just loses them and many others who have never voted. Three quarters of conservative minded non voters say to me “There isn’t a dimes worth of difference.” By and large, they’re right!
If the GOP did its job, the TEA party and the Libertarian party would not exist. Both movements were reactions to big government Republicanism, the Libertarians to Nixon and the TEA party to W Bush and his stimulus plans.
Individual freedom, individual responsibility and a vastly shrunk federal government are the only hope this nation has. A return to constitutional principles would necessitate the elimination of ALL the alphabet agencies outside of the FBI and CBP. Leave the other laws to the states, while ensuring full compliance with the Bill of Rights in all states for all issues.

What doesn’t compute is libertarians embracing conservative economics while pushing left wing social positions, and open borders, in a nation of 100% universal voting.
This agenda breeds liberal voters, not conservative voters.
Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.
Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.
Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.
Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.
Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.
Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.
Military Strength; minimal capabilities.
Noticed that too? It’s what’s wrong with the GOP.

How many times did conservatives rise up against Bush? It was several times. His amnesty plan was stopped by a groundswell of social conservatives.
We didn't stop the medicare drug benefit though.
If it were not for the war on terror George W Bush would have gotten very little support from FReepers on most issues.
